These kids are really hitting their stride as we come down the final stretch of the regular season. Let’s take a look at the performances these stars put on and take a look at what their film shows us. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to check out their film too!
Aydan Dautermann Aydan Dautermann 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Slinger | 2021 State WI , Senior WR/DB- Slinger
Stat Line: 7 Receptions, 188 yards, 3 TDs. Bonus: 2 INTs
Aydan is back to his playmaking ways after having to sit out last week due to Covid contact tracing. He spent that week away from the field receiving his first D1 offer. It came from South Dakota State and I don’t see it being the only one. Aydan is an elite athlete for the high school level. He can win so many reps at receiver and defensive back with his pure speed, but he hasn’t relied on that alone. Dautermann has crafted the rest of his game too. At receiver it seems like he gets better and better at route running each week. On the second TD in his week five film you see him get right to the DB’s blindspot then make his cut back to the QB. From there he uses that elite athleticism to outrun everyone with ease. On his interceptions he again demonstrated that athleticism as he easily turn and ran with his receiver and turned into the receiver as he quickly adjusted to the ball to make the play. Aydan is must watch film. Aydan’s Week Five
Robby Michael Robby Michael 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Sheboygan Lutheran | 2022 State WI , Junior QB- Sheboygan Lutheran
Stat Line: 373 Passing Yards, 6 TDs, 68 Rushing Yards, 1 TD. Bonus: 7 Tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 INT
Robby is back from having his Covid related absence and he picked up right where he left off. He did it without having a single practice during the week leading up to the game. That tells me that he must have an excellent grasp of the offense and connection with his teammates to be able to step right back in and go off the way he did in week five. Even with that missed time Robby still leads the state in passing yards. I’m a big fan of the touch and accuracy that he shows off in this week’s film. He dropped it in a bucket on a few of his deep TD passes. His demeanor is great too. Even with pressure right in his face he doesn’t panic. He does a great job buying time with his athleticism and he keeps his eyes down the field. He isn’t just looking to take off right away, but when he does he will hurt a defense with his feet. He translates his field vision to the defensive side too. At safety this week he had good range and he read the QB really well leading to his pick and his pass breakups. Robby’s Week Five
Nolan Lamers, Senior RB/DB- Little Chute
Stat Line: 23 Carries, 131 Yards, 1 TD
Decisive. That’s the first word that comes to mind when I watch Nolan at RB. He perfectly embodies the one cut running style. He reads the blocks, makes his decision, and goes. When he goes he really bursts too. Nolan’s play speed is more than plenty for the college level. There is no wasted motion or dancing in the backfield with him either. At 6’1″ 180 lbs he has an excellent frame for the position or for his DB position on defense. Nolan has a really nice blend of power to go with his one cut and go style. At the end of every run on his film he delivers the hit to the defender and always falls forward. He runs angry and I am a big fan of it. I haven’t seen any college related posts on his twitter. Don’t miss out on this kid, coaches! Check him out! Nolan’s Week Five
Clayton Schwalbe Clayton Schwalbe 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Waukesha North | 2021 State WI , Senior TE- Waukesha North
Stat Line: 8 Receptions, 82 Yards, 2 TDs
First things first… you have to click on his film and watch the first play! He hauls in a beautiful one handed TD catch where he reached around the defender to get the ball and then gets a foot in bounds before falling out of bounds. The body control for a 6’3″ 230 lbs athlete like him is wild. As I go through the rest of the film it is clear that he is even more athletic than last season and his route running has taken the next step. He looks more like a receiver coming out of some of his breaks. He’s so physical after the catch too. Unless you are willing to sacrifice your body or more you won’t be able to bring him down alone. It really looks like he has blossomed this season and it came together in a dominant week five performance. His body control, strong hands, blocking, and athleticism all have improved from already solid level traits when he was a junior. Check him out. He has gotten a lot of D2 interest and it is well deserved. Clayton’s Week Five
Javeonta Brown, Senior RB/DB- Waukesha North
Stat Line: 18 Carries, 202 Yards, 2 TDs, 4 Receptions, 58 Yards. Bonus: 2 INTs
This dude has some burst through the hole. Multiple times in his film from week five he went into the line of scrimmage with the ball and came flying out the other side. It didn’t even seem possible, but in tight quarters Javeonta is playing at a different speed than everyone in the box. I really like how reliable he is in the passing game too. Whether it was as a checkdown or a designed play he showed off natural hands. He looks like he is an even better DB than RB, which is saying something. On his first interception he perfectly read the QB and reacted quickly to come off his receiver and go jump in front of the receiver running down the sideline behind him. On the second pick it looked like he was covering a deep 1/3 and did a good job not following the post route cutting inside. Instead he did his job and was able to stay deep and make the pick. According to his twitter he doesn’t have any offers, but there is some interest. Check this kid out coaches. He could play both sides, but he looks very natural at DB. Javeonta’s Week Five
Colin Girdaukas, Junior WR- Sheboygan Lutheran
Stat Line: 11 Receptions, 262 Receiving Yards, 3 TDs, 2 Carries, 15 Rushing Yards
Colin once again dominated from the slot. His blend of size, speed, and route running saavy makes him so hard to defend. Add in the fact that he is playing out of the slot and it is almost impossible because he can cut any direction out of his breaks from that position. Colin isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty either. He will go out and lead block on receiver screens. If Colin isn’t contained right at the catch point he could take it the distance with every touch. He plays at a different speed than the defensive backs he has faced all year. Check out his film. There is a lot to watch because he performs like this week in and week out. Colin’s Week Five
Sam Peiffer, Junior WR- Cedar Grove
Stat Line: 7 Receptions, 141 Yards, 2 TDs. Bonus: Fumble Recovery
Check out the concentration on his first TD from this past week! Keeps his eyes on the ball. Shows off some great hand eye coordination. Then he finishes the play into the endzone for the score. Sam is what I would classify as a possession receiver. He doesn’t dominate with raw athleticism. Instead he focuses on the fundamentals. His route running, reliable hands, and consistency. It’s that consistency that gives his QB the confidence to look his way often. I was really impressed by the fact that he would line up tight to the OT on the line and run routes from there, but also help the running game by making some key blocks. He is an unselfish player. Sam’s Week Five
Reed Breckheimer, Junior RB- Hilbert
Stat Line: 3 Receptions, 75 Receiving Yards, 3 Carries, 69 Rushing Yards, 4 Total TDs
When you see scoring efficiency like this you can predict that the player is head and shoulders above the defense they faced. That would be an accurate prediction in this case. Reed is built like an old school fullback at 5’11” 215 lbs, but he showed off his athletic side this week. For the position, Reed has plenty of play speed. He wasn’t caught from behind in the open field and he ran through contact really well. He also proved that he could be used in both the run game and the pass game out of the backfield. He won’t stretch the field, but Reed is a reliable checkdown option for his QB. On the ground, Reed is a north-south runner who runs behind his pads instead of wasting time trying to win laterally. Give him a look. Reed’s Week Five
Xavier Goetzinger Xavier Goetzinger 5'8" | 185 lbs | RB Tremper | 2021 State WI , Senior RB- Kenosha Tremper
Stat Line: 26 Carries, 127 Yards, 3 TDs
Check out this 5’8″, 180 lb bowling ball tote the rock. He did it all too. Caught the ball, ran between the tackles, and got free off tackle. He is so elusive too. There are a few highlights that are zoomed in very close and he was jump cutting around multiple defenders a play. Then he would finish his runs with surprising physicality. His yards didn’t come from a few big chunk plays either. He ground out tough yards over and over and on one of his TDs he showed off a nasty stiff arm. I couldn’t find any posts about college interest. This is a kid that D3 schools might want to take a look at. He might not be the biggest, but the rest of his game is solid. Xavier’s Week Five
Joe Ollman, Junior RB- Homestead
Stat Line: 161 All Purpose Yards, 2 TDs
Big back with big play ability. Joe stands at 6’1″ 200 lbs as a junior and pairs that with a ton of traits that are key for the RB position. The first thing I want to mention is his pass blocking. I don’t see many highlights of RBs throwing key blocks to protect his QB in the passing game, but you will find them here. Joe isn’t afraid to step up and pop a blitzing LB. Joe also furthers his three down value because he can also catch the ball with natural hands. In his film from this week, Ollman had some nice runs between the tackles. He got skinny through the gap, and then was able to run with power after he broke through the gap and faced off with LBs. Joe has plenty of play speed too as he is one of the kick returners for the team and took one to the house in this game. Joe’s Week Five
Zander Rockow, Sophomore RB- Regis
Stat Line: 1 Rushing TD, No other stats posted
Zander’s best trait goes hand in hand with his body type. As a sophomore, Zander is 6’1″ 220 lbs and his best trait is his contact balance. Arm tackles don’t even slow him down it seems like and he seems to easily bounce off shoulder tackles from single defenders. His legs never stop churning. His instincts and vision show up early in the play as he looks for the gap he is going to hit and once he sees it he sticks his foot in the ground and goes 0 to 100 real quick. That’s why he is so hard to bring down. If you don’t get him with a few steps of his cut up field he will be at full speed and difficult to take down. His film from this week is full of these types of plays. Zander’s Week Five
Jackson Trudgeon, Junior WR- Edgewood
Stat Line: 7 Receptions, 166 Yards, 2 TDs
When I watch receivers there are several factors I look for, but there are three key areas. Does the receiver create separation? Does the receiver have natural hands? Is the receiver a threat after the catch? In Jackson’s week five film he checked off all three boxes. He creates separation with sufficient route running, but mainly with his speed. He has soft hands and can adjust to make the catch and once he gets the ball in his hands he has the top end speed to take every catch to the house whether its at the line of scrimmage or way down the field taking the top off the defense. Jackson has a frame ready to develop and fill out for the next level. He is currently 6’1″ 175 lbs. Check out his film. He had a solid night from the safety position as well. Jackson’s Week Five
