One of 2 unexpected presences at the Crown camp, Deshon Yancey wowed the coaching staff with his pure athleticism and blistering speed, earning an award at the end of the camp as the top overall skill position player from the camp. Yancey immediately stood out after posting a stunning 4.5 40 yard time, then topping that effort on his second attempt with a 4.49 time. Yancey possesses sharp footwork and great change-of-direction that should help him excel in space, though he certainly has room to improve in terms of his ball-tracking and consistent hands in the passing game. Nevertheless, the raw talent is simply too much to ignore, earning him an offer from Crown following the conclusion of the camp, and with how committed he’s been this offseason with his attendance at multiple different camps around the country, he should get plenty more over the next few weeks.

Taking home the Skills MVP nod from the Crown College coaching staff at their elite prospect camp was another product of the the south Atlanta suburbs in Mt. Zion-Jonesboro 2027 Deshon Yancey Deshon Yancey 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Mt. Zion-Jonesboro | 2027 State GA . Deshon had the only sub-4.5 40 yard dash I have seen on lasers this summer and was the only one also at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp that ran inside 7 seconds in the L-drill as well as the speed and twitch were surely on the display on Saturday afternoon in Polars Country. Deshon was one that we have graded as an athlete, as the skills he showed off in Saint Bonni in my eyes could translate to either side of the ball but surely Suatrday showed off the upside that can continue to grow with his hands.
