Starting off with one of the biggest recruiting enigmas in MN! Eden Prairie’s 6’5, 230 lb. DE Camren Riggins-Brown shares a lot of traits of former Eagles who have found success on both the gridiron and recruiting trail, sometimes in explosive fashion. Tall, long, great frame, hoops background, and of course, plays at the top program in Minnesota, but for whatever reason, Riggins-Brown just hasn’t put it all together yet and was undoubtedly the JV player with the highest ceiling in the entire state. Dominant against non-varsity competition, CRB got to showcase his athleticism against JV opponents, displaying a skillset of speed and quickness that was hard to manage for JV offensive lines. He did get some varsity snaps, finishing the season with one tackle, but the junior tape is against all non-varsity OL. Brings tons of length and room to fill in in his frame, gets off the ball well, winning most reps simply from his get-off, and has the play speed to run ball carriers down from the backside of the play. The 230ish pounder does have some reps showing power and a good bull rush, but generally won with his quickness off the snap, and he demonstrated some smooth start/stop and change of direction ability when beating blocks or corralling ball carriers in space. People are definitely watching, as he recently watched a Gophers practice and met with AHC and DL Coach Winston DeLattiboudere III, and teams like SDSU, UST, and Kent State want him to come camp. Local DIIs are all over him as well. Seems like it’s up to CRB to see how high he can take his performance or recruitment. I don’t have a clue what’s going on behind the scenes in this one, but CRB looks like he has all the tools to be successful at the varsity. 2024 will prove things one way or another.

Ranked 122nd on prephoops.comrnEven though an injury as a junior hindered him, Riggins is tough to block at defensive end. He simply doesn’t give offensive linemen much to hit. Riggins does a great job staying square with the line of scrimmage, forcing offensive linemen and blocking backs to adjust to him. He comes off the ball quickly and has the speed to run plays down from behind. The junior uses quick hands to keep offensive linemen’s hands off his body.

We’ve seen prospects with the background and skillset of Camren Riggins-Brown find a ton of success with the Eden Prairie Eagles before, and the 6’4, 210 lb. DE/TE and standout hooper fits the mold to produce and flash at the varsity level this fall. Riggins-Brown only competed in non-varsity action last fall for the Eagles, but because EP is one of the largest high schools and prep football programs in the state, it’s one of the better places to develop and hone your craft as an underclassman while waiting in the wings for your call up to the bright lights of varsity football. As a junior varsity DE/EDGE/WR, CRB showed off a raw but developing & athletic skillset, as well as a long, lean frame that could add a ton more weight and retain its mobility and quickness. His long strides help him cover a lot of ground in support and pursuit, he’s patient and assignment sound when reading and reacting to the opposing offense, and quick to beat and slide off blocking attempts around the LOS. CRB can change direction well, shows noticeably good burst and closing speed, and was used all over the field by the Eagles, including as the gunner on punt coverage. His get-off is also impressive, and like I mentioned, we’ve seen players with similar tools and physical ability find a ton of accomplishments at the 6A powerhouse, so make sure you remember this name going forward. CRB jumped from #99 to #78 in the latest PRzMN 2025 rankings update!

, Anthony Anderson, and Grant Shaeffer all coming to mind as recent examples of football/basketball ballers from the Metro powerhouse. 6’4, 205 lb. sophomore Camren Riggins is looking to add his name to the list of star-studded alums sharing his sporting background, and is length and overall mobility helped him in 2022 as a non-varsity DE. Laterally agile, good top speed, and excellent length also aided him as a WR and gunner on punt. The athletic tools seem to be there, now he just needs to refine some technique and produce at the varsity level. The potential is obvious, however. Keep your ears open for the name Camren Riggins!
