One of the biggest recruiting enigma’s in Minnesota’s 2026 class, Moita is the latest installment of Eden Prairie’s high-quality trend of football/basketball hybrids, the reported 6’5, 220 lber. has bounced around a couple of different spots on Eden Prairie’s football roster throughout his time with the Eagles, but a massive offseason, some size added to his already D1-worthy frame, and a move to the DL, as well as more experience at WR, seems to have really captured and translated Moita’s skillset successfully to the gridiron.

Moita made a beautiful, back-shoulder, contorted snag right out of a breaking Maple Grove DB’s hands, landed impressively on feet, and strutted in for a highlight reel-worthy score on a talented defensive secondary

As a 5T, Moita shows off a big-time get off, much heavier hands that really make an impact on first contact, closing speed, twitch, and is strong enough to hold a gap and not get washed out on down blocks and run blocking schemes

A sophomore dripping with upside and potential on a frame with a literally high ceiling thanks to his legit 6’4-6’5 height as a 15-year-old, Eden Prairie’s Phillip Moita Phillip Moita 6'5" | 195 lbs | ATH Eden Prairie | 2027 MN was no doubt one of the top JV players in Minnesota last fall. Owning a massive frame and obvious dynamic athleticism for his size, Moita was dominant vs. non-varsity competition as a sophomore. Additionally, Moita has the football/basketball background that has produced some flat-out exceptional prep football players since the 2000s. With verified size and some promising athletic numbers behind him, including an 8’5 broad jump, it’s hard not to be excited about Moita’s promise as an upperclassman, especially if you consider him at a position other than QB. With his long strides, contact balance, and stiff arm, he looks good running the rock, and I can’t wait to see what Eden Prairie does with him next fall. I’ve heard a couple of different possible positions are in the cards for the high-upside sophomore standout.
