As we head deeper into the 2023 off-season, there are some names emerging that should make a big time splash at events this Spring and see their stock rise over the next few months. Each of these prospects are coming off very nice third year campaigns are are poised to make a big leap in their Senior seasons.
Riddle is the next up explosive athlete to come out of the region and is a very strong kid that is a natural runner and shows a nice burst and open field speed while having FCS+ abilities at the next level. Able to line up both in the backfield and out wide, he is a natural pass catcher with soft hands, good body control and turns upfield quickly to gain yards consistently. From the backfield, he has good vision and follows pullers, natural lean and breaks tackles in traffic showing good balance and always falling forward. He is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 class across Idaho and should have a monster Senior season.
Flowers checks in as our number one signal caller in the 2024 class in our latest rankings update. He holds one offer from Arizona and should see other FBS and FCS interest come his way in the coming months. He is one of the better quarterbacks across the western region and lead Rigby to another 5A title over Meridian in 2022. He has a strong arm, can fit it into tight windows and active feet in the pocket while feeling pressure well. On tape, he also shows he can push the ball downfield with a quick over the top release and leads his receivers open while moving safeties with his eyes and moving the pocket with his legs. As he enters the camp and showcase season this Spring, he will be a name to watch for as schools start pulling the trigger on offering quarterbacks.
Del-Rio is a sudden quick runner with elite short area quickness and is quick twitched in the hole. In traffic he can make defenders miss between the tackles while showing a natural burst out into the open field forcing defenders to take bad angles in space with some under-rated third level speed. A strong runner for his size, he can deliver a blow and runs tough while looking for contact. As he gets onto the camp scene this Spring, he should turn some heads and will be one of the best available backs across the region in the 2024 class.
McGee is a very explosive runner coming off a nice Junior campaign for Mountain View. He is a zone runner that does a nice job at setting up his blocks before sticking his toe in the ground with cutback abilities and shows contact balance on the edge and a natural forward lean through contact. A very smooth athlete with some length and a long strider, he should see FCS interest come his way through his Senior season. Currently, he checks in as the number one back in our latest 2024 PRZ Rankings and is in line for a monster fourth season.
