Season Recap: Sayville Golden Flashes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The historic football community of Sayville has won their seventh Long Island Championship. They completed a perfect season finishing 12-0. It was absolute domination from start to finish. On offense they averaged over 40 points per game. They were a machine, which had fantastic playmakers all over the field. On the other side of the ball, their fast and physical defense was lockdown all year. They only gave up 17 points throughout their four playoff games, including only 7 to a Plainedge offense that averaged over 40 points per game. His vision and cutting ability make him so dangerous along with his breakaway speed. Messina's change of direction gave defenses nightmares in every game he played. He hits the hole very hard and effectively. Messina put on over 25 pounds of muscle compared to his freshman season, making him much more difficult to bring down. He has incredible instincts and was constantly able to track down the ball carrier. Sands was a very agile linebacker. He was able to slice through the opposition's offensive line to come away with a ton of tackles for loss. Similar to his brother, he has great instincts. Sands is one of the fastest linebackers and hits with a purpose. At 5'10 and 175 pounds, he has the opportunity to add more weight and become an even more effective linebacker. He has a great motor and showcased great vision against opposing offenses. With his brother graduating, he'll take a larger role in the defense and continue to make plays.
