Worthington Kilbourne
#24 Brian Wilson (Sr.) LB, 5’8 185 – 3 year starter and leader of the defense from the Mike position. Tackling machine. Very patient in the box with great timing to his gap assignments. Has the natural leverage to take blocks on with aggression. Made some great plays in the backfield. Was a special teams standout.
#65 Toran Smith (Jr.) DL, 6’1 230 – Very good utilization of lift and leverage with hands. Played with low pad level and explosion into offensive lineman. Kept his motor running and made plays in the backfield. Another rising star in the 2022 class.
#57 Nana Amposah (So.) DL, 6’0 235 – High motor, great quickness and leverage. Gave fits to the older offensive lineman he was lined up against. Keep him on your radar in the coming years.
#9 Joe Borchers (Sr.) DB, 6’0 175 – Speedy DB with very good technique in his backpedal. Closed the space routinely on the WR’s he was facing. Above average tackler in the open field. Keep an eye on his progression throughout the season.
Dublin Scioto
#9 Silas Moore (Jr.) DB, 5’11 145 – Silas performed really well vs some good WR competition. He has the speed to run with receivers down the field and a nose for the ball in the air. Made some big plays on deep passes affecting the outcome of the game. Keep on your radar as he has a couple of years left to develop.
#71 Vernon Williams (Sr.) DL, 6’4 245 – Vernon affected the game in a myriad of ways. Tall and muscular DE with the athletic ability to match. Kept motor running and used above average technique. Has the arm length and violent hands needed to succeed at college level. Please take a long, hard look at his tape.
#32 Vaughn Francis (Sr.) LB, 6’1 215 – Vaughn was a tackling machine. Gets under blockers and sheds them violently. Adept at handling inside/outside run equally. Possesses the big body to stay at LB, or possibly move down to the defensive line. Keep on the radar rest of season.
