was a pivotal part of Hominy’s defensive efforts. Gilley led a Hominy front seven that did a really good job of limiting what Woodland was able to do in the running game and they also put relentless pressure on the passing game. The Cougars were held to under 150 yards on the ground, which was less than their average per game coming in. They also held the Cougars to under 100 yards passing. Gilley and the Hominy front did a really good job of making Woodland earn everything they got on Friday night. The Cougars ran the ball 41 times on the night and only had two carries go for more than ten yards.

. Like Voelker at Choctaw, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what side of the line of scrimmage Gilley is a natural fit for. He has good film on both sides of the ball but his size might lean to him being on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage. Gilley and the Hominy Bucks are one of the best teams in Class A and we’re impressed with what Gilley is able to do at the point of attack after checking out his film. He has precise hand placement and then you watch as the strength takes over. He has the ability to move his man where he wants them to go. It’s still a toss up on what side of the ball Gilley is at so we’ll want to see more film.
