Charley Gulbin
The gunslinger displayed his arm talents again this season. I have him in this article because it is obvious he has increased his stock upward for a higher ranking. He played in 10 games and compiled the following stats on the season.
Season Stats: 2055 Passing Yards, 401 Rushing yards, 28 Passing TDs, 6 Rushing TDs ,34 Total TDs, 122.1 QBR
His performances this season caught my attention to view his mid-season film. A solid dual-threat QB with a very high command presence was easily noticeable. He checks many boxes such as:
- t
- Body: Size, frame, and growth potential.
- Process – Timing and working through his progressions.
- Lower Body: Good footwork and balance.
- Upper Body: Quick release.
- Velocity and ball placement.
- Pocket awareness with mobility.
- Athletic ability to run the football.
A name not known prior to the season and will surely make our next rankings list. His physical measurable (height & weight), align with Div -1 FBS Group of 5 and /or High Div – 1 FCS quarterbacks.

A higher confidence change seen in “Gulbin” skills this season and rightfully so. The junior surely has put up some good numbers this season. This is a positive note for a prospect who had a serious injury that needed surgery to repair his ACL and MCL in 2019 when he was 14. Four years later, he is on a mission and track to get to the next level. He completed the season playing in 8 games. He compiled 1602 yards in the air while attempting 163 passes and completing 117 passes. He also totaled 18 touchdowns on the season. A quick glance at his film shows good poise in the pocket this season and it stands out. He continues to make very accurate throws under pressure and has the athleticism to escape the pocket and make plays with his feet or arm. His play this season will draw attention from college coaches. His measurables align with Low Div -1 FCS/High D2/High NAIA quarterbacks.

He can make very accurate throws while under pressure and has the athleticism to escape the pocket and make plays with his feet or arm. Has excellent field awareness when in the pocket. Keeps his eyes down field when pressured. Shows proficient ability to throw to receivers open and execute the back shoulder throw placement. His confidence stands out on film with a high command presence under center at pre-snap.
A recruit who will see college interest heighten now that we are in the 2023 spring evaluation period with college coaches on the road visiting recruits at their respected schools
