College Coaches will begin to hit the road to finish up the class of 2024 recruitment and connect with the top recruits from the class of 2025. In this report, I will identify five recruits that surfaced to our attention. These recruits will surely be ranked in our next rankings release and likely to see college interest pick up this off-season after high-level performances this fall season.
Andrew Laplante
His name was heard loud and clear beginning week 1 of the season with consistent top performances that seem to occur each week. He is a three-sport athlete who participates in football, basketball, and track. He was selected as a top performer during the following weeks this season.
9/8/23 – He rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
9/15/23 – He rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Saw him play in a live setting in week of October 4, 2023: Has big upside playmaking potential. He can rush and block well. Gets downhill fast with great lean and stays low to the ground. Reacts quickly to running lanes that open while getting upfield in a flash. When defenders get a hand on him, he appears to find more power and excel upfield for additional yardage. Played well on both sides of the ball. He flashed good athleticism when he laid his body out on a defensive man coverage to knock down a well-thrown ball.
10/13/23 – Rushed for 160 yards on 30 carries.
11/20/23 – He rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 carries, while recovering a fumble during the Div. 2 state title game.
His physical measurables ( height & weight), align with Div -1 FBS Group of 5 or High FCS running backs.
Jayden Barber
Another junior who had many Top Performances throughout the season is rising QB Jaden Barber from Dennis Yarmouth High School in Massachusetts. “Barber” is an athlete under center who opened many eyes with his passing this season. He stands 6’0″: 150lbs.
9/8/23 – He completed 20 of 32 passes for 382 yards with five touchdowns and one interception to help lead his team to victory.
9/21/23 – He completed 19-of-29 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a third touchdown.
10/6/23 – He completed 13-of-17 passes for 267 yards and four touchdowns.
10/13/23 – He completed 7-of-14 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 61 yards.
10/20/23 – He completed 14 of 23 passes for 299 yards with two touchdowns and an interception on defense. He also rushed for 120 yards on the ground with two TDs.
11/25/23 – He completed 15-of-26 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 135 yards and a score.
A name not known to us prior to the season and has performed at a high level consistently during the season. His physical measurable (height only), align with Low Div -1 FCS/High D2/High NAIA Quarterbacks.
Charley Gulbin
The gunslinger displayed his arm talents again this season. I have him in this article because it is obvious he has increased his stock upward for a higher ranking. He played in 10 games and compiled the following stats on the season.
Season Stats: 2055 Passing Yards, 401 Rushing yards, 28 Passing TDs, 6 Rushing TDs ,34 Total TDs, 122.1 QBR
His performances this season caught my attention to view his mid-season film. A solid dual-threat QB with a very high command presence was easily noticeable. He checks many boxes such as:
- t
- Body: Size, frame, and growth potential.
- Process – Timing and working through his progressions.
- Lower Body: Good footwork and balance.
- Upper Body: Quick release.
- Velocity and ball placement.

Season Stats: 2210 Passing Yards, 128 Rushing yards, 21 Passing TDs, 5 Rushing TDs ,26 Total TDs, 101.1 QBR
He returned to the Qb postion after being the starter last season and has shown to be a ranked prospect moving forward. A true competitor with good poise and high intelligence to read defenses at pre-snap. Keeps his eyes downfield when scrambling and being pressured. Has a nice touch on the ball on deep throws. He is very comfortable in the pocket while executing RPO reps. Gets the ball out very quickly with accuracy and pepper on the throws. Has good pocket awareness.
His physical measurables align with Div 1 Low FCS/High D2/High NAIA quarterbacks.
