Here are five perimeter playmakers to know about entering the 2022 season.
WR Cory O’Bryant – 6’0″ 175 / Tomball Memorial HS — @CoryOBryant1
Junior Stats: 29 receptions, 674 yards, 8 touchdowns. 23.2 yards per catch.
Special. That’s the word that comes to mind when watching O’Bryant’s tape. He’s a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. Bursts off the line, consistently creates separation, and beats cornerbacks vertically, with pure speed. When he puts it in second gear, can take the top off a defense. Something else that really stands out is that he runs precise routes and wins at the top with great body control.
It’s not often that you come across an elite prospect who has no offers going into his senior season. O’Bryant checks all the boxes. Division 1 talent.
Currently has no offers.
WR Roriyon Richardson – 6’2″ 190 / Summer Creek HS — @JRoriyon
Junior Stats: 25 receptions, 284 yards
A big, crafty wideout with a variety of releases, Richardson is a true outside receiver who’s in line to have a big senior season.
He lacks elite top-end speed, but he’s a smart, reliable outside weapon with excellent hands and body control. Will win 50-50 balls and keep the chains moving. Very well put-together, and certainly looks the part. Only going to get better throughout the season.
No offers yet. Recently camped at Louisiana Tech.
WR Dekeidris Bedford – 6’2″ 175 / Hallettsville HS — @DekeidrisBedfo1
Bedford is a big athlete who also lines up at cornerback for the Brahmas. He’s a possession target who will go over the middle to make the tough catches, and he also has some sneaky speed and can take a screen the distance. Once he learns to get more violent with his hands at the line, has the build to defeat press coverage and decent enough speed to win over the top.

WR Darrell Gill Jr. – 6’3″ 175 / Atascocita HS — @Darrell_Gill_Jr
Gill is a big-bodied receiver who excels on special teams. Tough and gritty, he will do all the things that may not show up on a stat sheet but will make a big difference on the field. Would absolutely be a great addition for a small college program looking to add a prime piece in the special teams game. It will be interesting to see the kind of senior season he has in store.
Currently has a Division 3 offer from Sul Ross.
WR Claude Slaughter III – 6’3″ 175 / Atascocita HS — @ClaudeSlaughte5
Slaughter is another solid outside weapon who flashes nice stop-n-start ability on the perimeter. He is going to win jump balls in the red zone and come up with big catches in those situations you need them the most. Additionally, he is a nice downfield blocker who would be a nice pickup for a small college program.
