After this most recent rankings update, we will begin breaking down the top prospects from each of the 12 districts in Pennsylvania.

The top ten District 12 prospect list is dominated by Philadelphia Catholic League prospects, a reality most of us have come to grips with. Roman Catholic high school has put forth three in this group alone, as the program continues to build around special talents. [player_tooltip player_id="66053" first="Jameial" last="Lyons"]’ stock displayed the second largest jump of any prospect in this group, climbing into the top ten and giving annually ranked top ten players a run for their money. Lyons, the recent Penn-State commit ranks as the classes top pass rusher, with teammate [player_tooltip player_id="145447" first="Jordan" last="Montgomery"] ranking as the fifth best defensive linemen overall. [player_tooltip player_id="145447" first="Jordan" last="Montgomery"] rounds out the top ten, holding off the likes of [player_tooltip player_id="140975" first="Darold" last="Dengohe"], [player_tooltip player_id="27738" first="Ronel" last="Nukah"] and [player_tooltip player_id="140968" first="Tyrese" last="Whitaker"], all awesome names who deserve to be on this list. Roman Catholic’s third and final inclusion is [player_tooltip player_id="248929" first="Austin" last="Ramsey"], who just recently became the first prospect in the class of 2023 to commit to an SEC program. Roman is set with these three alone to make their title hopes possible.

Imhotep Institute and Archbishop Wood each add two to the top ten list. Archbishop Wood might be losing a ton of their talent to other programs because of a head coaching change, yet they still hold DL [player_tooltip player_id="27739" first="Eric" last="Gardner"] as well as nationally recognized tight-end [player_tooltip player_id="140949" first="Markus" last="Dixon"]. Two elite prospects on both sides of the ball still makes you a formidable opponent in the PCL. Imhotep might have only had one prospect on this list if not for said head coaching change at AB Wood.
Arguably the best linebacker in the entire state, [player_tooltip player_id="27734" first="Semaj" last="Bridgeman"] decided to finish his senior year and high school career at Imhotep Institute this Fall. Bridgeman’s ferocious mentality will fit like a glove in this defense led by [player_tooltip player_id="27730" first="Rahmir" last="Stewart"], [player_tooltip player_id="248111" first="Mysir" last="Mayo"] and many other underclassmen talents. We were big fans of many in the 2022 Imhotep class, the Bridgeman addition will help the program stay locked and loaded this Fall.
The sole public league player in the top ten is Northeast’s [player_tooltip player_id="248198" first="Naquil" last="Betrand"], who’s stock has soared like none other since our last update. The Colorado commit has since garnered offers out of multiple SEC programs, including Texas A&M, Georgia, Kentucky, and Auburn University. Teammates [player_tooltip player_id="27738" first="Ronel" last="Nukah"] and [player_tooltip player_id="140968" first="Tyrese" last="Whitaker"] just barely missed this cut, all of which will suit up as Vikings this Fall.
The last two on the list are both national prospects out of premier programs in District 12. [player_tooltip player_id="27736" first="Josiah" last="Trotter"] jumped into the top five this update, leaping Pennridge’s [player_tooltip player_id="359737" first="Phil" last="Picciotti"] by one spot to secure his spot as the best 2023 prospect in the Catholic League. [player_tooltip player_id="27731" first="Shawn" last="Battle"] is also recognized inside, a defensive back who is both a top ten District 12 player and a top ten defensive back overall.
