Hartung just received his first scholarship offer from D2 Lock Haven. The senior LB has a good motor & plays instinctively at Linebacker. He moves well & he causes hard collisions. Mt Lebanon’s leader is a good blitzer that makes plays in the backfield. He’s well-coached and reads run-to-pass quickly. Will plays with a low center of gravity, which allows him to pack a punch on his tackles. Hartung missed a large part of the season last year to injury. The 2023 prospect is 6’1, 200 lbs, and an honor roll student that maintains a 3.3 Gpa. 

Only played in 5 games his Junior season due to injury. Hartung has the speed & motor to be able to play sideline to sideline. Had a play vs Gateway where he showed good LB instincts with his run pass reads and made a tackle running to the sideline. Displays a good nose for the ball. Not great with using his hands playing off of blocks on inside run plays. He will have to  work on overall strength finishing tackles, playing off of blocks better with his hands. 

22′ : Looked explosive like he was fully healed from his injury from Jr. year. Had a sack and 8 tackles at LB. Had a couple plays were he showed the ability to explosively shoot gaps on run plays for TFLs. He evaded an OL coming to block him on an inside run by sidestepping him with a low center of gravity & good tackling form. Has good LB frame at 6’2 195 with room to grow into his position on the FCS/D2 level. 

After Dee and Capristo, you could argue there’s a drop-off in talent strictly based on recruitment of the rest of the senior class. That being said, Will Hartung Will Hartung 6'2" | 195 lbs | LB Mt. Lebanon | 2023 State PA is your quintessential come-out-of-no-where prospect who could jump into the hands of D2 schools next year. The size at linebacker is ideal, 6’2, just under 200 pounds, moving in space, laterally, is a strong suit of Hartung. Whether or not Mt. Lebanon is successful this Fall, I could see Hartung take home all-conference honors. I hope to see that growth in his game, the potential is there.
