On Wednesday, it was national signing day and 2022 prospects from all over the state signed with their future college programs. On Friday, we made our final update to the 2022 rankings. These rankings have been updated multiple times a year since our website launched in the summer of 2020. We can’t wait to look back on this final update and see what each guy did at the next level and see just how accurate or inaccurate they were. But over the next several days, we’ll spotlight several players at each position that have stood out to us in one way or another. In this post, we put a spotlight on the top ten. These are the very best prospects in the state of Oklahoma as they head off to the next level. It also includes a new prospect taking over the top spot at #1. From the start, the top three prospects have been the top three prospects and they close out their careers in those spots.
1)
Talyn Shettron

Shettron

Edmond Santa Fe | 2022
State
OK
– Wide Receiver – Edmond Santa Fe
Signed With Oklahoma State – Last Ranking: #2
The new top guy in the 2022 class is Edmond Santa Fe wide receiver Talyn Shettron Talyn Shettron 6'3" | WR Edmond Santa Fe | 2022 State OK . Like the other two prospects within the top three, Shettron is the best of the best and not much separates him from the other two. But in our opinion, Shettron is going to be great at the next level and has the chance to be an instant impact guy for Oklahoma State within their offense. Shettron has been the state’s best wide receiver prospect for over two years. He established that as a sophomore and only continued to be that guy over the last two seasons. Shettron has everything you want from a wide receiver from size, speed and reliable hands. He earned his spot as an All American and played like it for four years.
2)
Gentry Williams
Gentry
Williams

Booker T Washington | 2022
State
OK
– Defensive Back – Booker T Washington
Signed With Oklahoma – Last Ranking: #1
Our next prospect is another All American who has been a household name in Oklahoma since his freshman season. Despite missing nearly all of his junior year to a knee injury, Williams hasn’t lost his spot among the state’s best coming out of the 2022 class. Williams immediately caught everyone’s attention as a freshman with what he was able to do on the track and the rest was history. While he didn’t sign back in December, Williams didn’t sway away from his commitment to OU and the Sooners landed the best DB in the state’s class for the first time in a few years. Just like Shettron, Williams is a safe bet to be an impact player and might have the highest ceiling of the top three.
3)
Jacob Sexton
Jacob
Sexton
6'6" | OL
Deer Creek | 2022
State
OK
– Offensive Lineman – Deer Creek
Signed With Oklahoma – Last Ranking: #3
The final member of the 2022 class “Big Three” is Deer Creek offensive lineman Jacob Sexton Jacob Sexton 6'6" | OL Deer Creek | 2022 State OK . Like the other two, since he was a freshman, Sexton has been one of the top prospects in the state. He’s been committed to Oklahoma for well over a year and signed with the Sooners in December. Sexton has been that guy at the offensive line position for several years now and has always been considered the best offensive lineman in the state, regardless of what year it was. You hear coaches talk about having to game plan against him and you find out it’s much more than just size. Sexton is an absolute technician with his hands and size and if he gets locked onto you, you’re going to go where he wants you to go.
4)
Chris McClellan
Chris
McClellan
6'4" | DL
Owasso | 2022
State
OK
– Defensive Lineman – Owasso
Signed With Florida – Last Ranking: #4
Without a doubt the most disruptive defensive lineman in Oklahoma over the last two seasons has been Chris McClellan Chris McClellan 6'4" | DL Owasso | 2022 State OK . You have to know where the big man is at all times and if you don’t, it’s going to be a problem if you’re a quarterback. McClellan transferred from Edison to Owasso for his senior season and while the stats might have gone down, the disruption did not. Opposing teams had to double team him constantly and McClellan was still that game-changing player on the defensive line. McClellan was also selected as an All American and in the game down in San Antonio, going against the best in the country, McClellan still was a wrecking ball and caused problems for the opposing offense.
5)
Robert Spears-Jennings
Robert
Spears-Jennings
6'2" | WR
Broken Arrow | 2022
State
OK
– Wide Receiver/Defensive Back – Broken Arrow
Signed With Oklahoma – Last Ranking: #6
The first of two Broken Arrow Tigers to crack the top ten in the final update is Robert Spears-Jennings Robert Spears-Jennings 6'2" | WR Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK . For two seasons now, Jennings has been one of the best wide receivers in the state. However, over the summer before his junior year, Jennings camped at OU and worked out as a safety and things absolutely sky-rocketed in his recruitment. While we still believe that Jennings would be one of the top prospects in this class if he was just a wide receiver. But he’s headed to Norman to play defense and he even earned All American honors as a senior. Jennings is yet another game changer to come out of this class and will certainly bring some versatility to Norman.
6)
Jayden Rowe
Jayden
Rowe
6'2" | DB
Union | 2022
State
OK
– Defensive Back – Union
Signed With Oklahoma – Last Ranking: #5
When we look at this top ten and try to find a prospect and answer this question. After four years in college, who’s a guy that could absolutely sky-rocket into not only a top player at the next level but who could turn into an NFL guy. If we had to pick someone outside the top three to four, we’ll go with Union defensive back Jayden Rowe Jayden Rowe 6'2" | DB Union | 2022 State OK . The combination of size and speed makes Rowe absolutely terrifying to think about at the next level. He’s been a cornerback over the last few years and could end up being moved around as well. It would not surprise us at all if we fast forward three to four years and Rowe is considered arguably the best prospect to come out of this 2022 class.
7)
Braylin Presley
Braylin
Presley
5'9" | RB
Bixby | 2022
State
OK
– Running Back – Bixby
Signed With Oklahoma State – Last Ranking: #7
We’ve been pretty consistent on this opinion over the last two years and we think that others have come around to thinking the same thing. No other player in Oklahoma has been more of an electric playmaker than Bixby running back Braylin Presley Braylin Presley 5'9" | RB Bixby | 2022 State OK . Every time he gets the ball in his hands, you have to worry about him going the distance. If you haven’t seen Presley on tape or better yet in person, and you just judge him on his measurables, you might question what he can do at the next level. Don’t. Presley has been arguably the best football player in Oklahoma over the last two years and the most special part about him is what he does in the biggest games. We can’t wait to see what he does in Stillwater.
8)
CJ Brown
CJ
Brown
6'1" | RB
Beggs | 2022
State
OK
– Running Back – Beggs
Signed With Oklahoma State – Last Ranking: #10
Another Oklahoma State signee, this time from Beggs running back CJ Brown CJ Brown 6'1" | RB Beggs | 2022 State OK . The Beggs standout has been hovering around the top ten over the last several updates and he finishes his high school career at #8. Brown put up monster numbers once again for Beggs and what’s scary is what he could have put up. He split carries with 2024 Red Martel Red Martel 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Beggs | 2024 State OK and 2025 Ryan Grayson Ryan Grayson 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Beggs | 2025 State OK , who are some of the best in the state. Brown is incredibly electric with the ball in his hands but he’s also gotten stronger over the last few seasons, allowing him to take more of a load on his shoulders and carry the offense. Brown has an incredibly high ceiling at the next level and has earned his spot jumping into the top ten.
9)
NuNu Campbell
NuNu
Campbell
5'11" | DB
Holland Hall | 2022
State
OK
– Defensive Back – Holland Hall
Signed With Tulsa – Last Ranking: #13
Jumping into the top ten on the recent ranking was Holland Hall defensive back NuNu Campbell NuNu Campbell 5'11" | DB Holland Hall | 2022 State OK . We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again. Tulsa is getting one of the best players in the state with Campbell and there are plenty of schools that will be regretting not going after the Holland Hall star more. For the last two years, Campbell has been one of the best cover corners in the state and nothing has changed our opinion on that. Campbell wasn’t as recruited as some of the other prospects within the top ten but in our opinion, he’s a top ten prospect in this class and deserves to be in the conversation with the best of the best from the state’s 2022 class.
10)
Maurion Horn
Maurion
Horn
5'11" | RB
Broken Arrow | 2022
State
OK
– Running Back/Defensive Back – Texas Tech
Signed With Texas Tech – Last Ranking: #9
The second prospect from Broken Arrow is another prospect that could end up playing on either side of the ball. Maurion Horn Maurion Horn 5'11" | RB Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK has widely been considered a defensive back by most recruiting analysts but any time we’ve watched him over the last three years, he’s always looked better to us as a running back who can absolutely break a game open, similar to the first two running backs mentioned above. So Horn might end up playing defensive back at the next level in Lubbock but we’ll stick with our opinion that he’s just as dangerous on offense with the ball in his hands. He proved that once again as a senior when Broken Arrow started playing their best football down the stretch with him leading the offense.
