I was very impressed watching all of these players’ highlights. All of these guys returning to their respective teams is a true luxury. A dominant defensive lineman is a game-changer in high school football. I guarantee coaches were continuously scheming ways to try to block these guys last year. This will likely still be the case this year. All of these guys were recognized for their play by earning either All-Conference or Honorable mention All-Conference.
I look forward to watching these guys play next year and if you get a chance to you should do so as well. All of them have the skill to play at the college level.
Jibriel Conde | Ypsilanti Lincoln | 2023 | Hudl
Conde does a great job of setting the edge. He is a very good athlete who has moves laterally very well and always keeps a good balance. Conde is a hard hitter who does a great job of wrapping up and finishing tackles. He has good quickness that allows him to easily create tackles for loss.
Thomas Huss | Temperance Bedford | 2023 | Hudl
Huss has good size at 6-3 185lbs. Huss has a powerful upper body and can quickly move opposing offensive players off of him. Huss disrupted several plays against Dexter, which was critical since Dexter had several offensive weapons. Huss has a great motor and is always working to fight off blocks and get to the ball carrier.
[player_tooltip player_id="169537" first="Bruce" last="Williams"] | Ann Arbor Huron | 2023 | Hudl
Williams does a great job of firing off the line of scrimmage. He plays with great leverage and can get in the backfield very quickly. He has great lateral movement and combines his quickness to get around offensive lineman. I love that when Williams hits a ball carrier he drives them back, and finishes the tackle. He is not afraid of contact at all and has great competitive toughness.
Corey Baker | Dexter | 2023 | Hudl
Baker is great at driving offensive linemen back with his power. He does a great job of holding his ground and not allowing teams to run in the middle of the Dexter defense. Baker shows great upper body strength to power through double teams. Corey Baker shows the athleticism to be able to jump up and deflect passes. He also uses his upper body to wrap up well on tackles. As a coach, I would love a guy like Baker on my team. Stopping the run and making an offensive one-dimensional is a winning formula not just for high school football, but at any level.
Dishawn DeLoach | Ann Arbor Skyline | 2024 | Hudl
DeLoach is great at engaging blockers and then reading where the ball carrier is going, then getting off the block to make a tackle. He has good size at 6-4, 235 lbs. He is a physical player who does not back down from any opposing player. DeLoach lines up mostly at defensive tackle but shows the versatility with his quickness to also line up at the defensive end position as well. DeLoach will only enter his junior year in 2022, giving him two more seasons to continue to play at a high level.
