Expert Analysis
Myles Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Valentino is a 3 year varsity starter who has consistently put up impressive numbers. In a 2 week stretch this season he threw for 723 yards and 11 TD’s. He has a great arm with accuracy to complement that. His excellent decision making skills were shown week in and week out. By the end of his sophomore campaign he was a force to be reckoned with. One of Valentino’s most impressive skills is his ability to put the ball in in places where his receivers have the opportunity to create YAC. He continued to raise the bar week in and week out from his 1st varsity start. Which showed how much work he put in off the field to get to this level. Despite all this he remains unsigned, Valentino has a bright future ahead of him in this game and would be the perfect asset for a team looking to add a QB to takeover their offense. Take a look at his tape below.

Gist led the Lions to the state championship as their starting quarterback. The 6’1, 180 lbs signal caller tore it up in his junior season, throwing for over 2,500 yards on a 68% completion rate. He has a quick release, displaying accuracy and velocity with a flick on the wrist. Gist can throw from different arm slots, allowing him to fit the ball over or around opposing defenders. Gist reads the defensive coverage quickly, showing off his sharp decision making and ability to throw the ball into tight windows. Additionally, he has tremendous accuracy when throwing on the run and smooth touch on deep balls. With Gist leading the Lions’ offense again this season, Peoria is poised to light up the scoreboard once again.

Valentino has a live arm! He can throw it on a frozen rope to his WR’s with great touch. He was able to lead the lions to the 5A state championship game last year with his playmaking ability. The coaches at Peoria do a great job utilizing his ability to change the pocket and throw on the move. That paired with his ability to take the top off the defense with his deep ball, makes him very difficult to prepare for. I expect Valentino to come out strong this fall and lead Peoria to another great season.

The trigger man for one of the top rushing offenses in the state of Illinois, you would think that all he does is hand the ball off and watch, but that is FAR from the truth for Tino. He has a quick release, great accuracy and does a phenomenal job throwing on the move. He returns for his senior year in 2023 having thrown for over 2500 yards and 30+ touchdowns his Junior Year. With the graduation of a 3000 yard rusher, I would look for Tino to better all of those numbers as he tries to lead Peoria back to the state championship once gain. Mr. Gist was on fire Friday night finishing with 4 TDs to end the game. He did so by adding a touch on level 3 throws on deep shots downfield and leading the receiver just enough away from the defender to win over top. One of these balls was very impressive at it was just outside the reach of the Kays highly talented safety. This young man was also able to stand strong in the pocket to get the ball off under pressure as a defender is in his face to keep the chains moving. This was the first time I got a chance to see this young man in action and he was impressive to say the least. Twitter
