The two way standout played at 6′ 190 lbs. He is now listed at 6’1″ 210 lbs. That extra size is only going to make him harder to slow down on offense. At FB, Blake is used to attack north-south. He uses his short area/lateral agility to shake defenders, otherwise he uses power to run right through arm tackles or his burst to accelerate through lanes before the second level can close on him. Once in the open field he has superior speed to break off big gains.
I’m more excited to see how the soon to be senior looks at LB with that bigger frame. He already was a stout run defender at ILB with the strength to fight off blocks and make tackles at the line. If he can maintain his range at his size he will be an intriguing LB prospect. Check out his 2022 below.

Stats: 20 Carries, 175 Yards, 3 TDsrnThe 6′ 200 lbs FB/LB did it both ways for Brodhead on Friday night. On offense, Blake is the muscle of the ground game. Brodhead asks him to attack downhill, drive his feet, run through contact, and move the pile. All things that play to the big back’s strengths. Blake’s 4.8 speed also allowed him to break off a 90+ yard TD. I was also impressed with his blocking ability. He made several key blocks to open the running lane wide open. Blake is a big, physical presence that helps set the tone in the trenches. The thunder to a dangerous thunder-lightning duo.
