He has been flying under the radar through his prep career and is going to be a steal at the next level as he checks the boxes needed for either inside or outside linebacker in college. Through 5 weeks of play he has picked up right where he left off last season and has been all over the field, closing quickly and making plays int he box and outside the tackles sideline to sideline. Since the start of the year, he has been in the top tackling category week in and week out and has amassed 54 tackles and 3 TFL's averaging nearly 19 tackles per game he has played in. He lands on our list this week of top defensive performances after snagging 5 interceptions so far this season and being a true field general in the middle of the back-end for Burley. Garrard is a high IQ player with a quick trigger and takes good angles in the open field while showing he can redirect and consistently make plays in space. He is a heavy handed and explosive edge setter that can get underneath blockers, collapse the pocket quickly and counter back inside when needed and shows he is able to lineup anywhere along the defensive front and apply pressure on the quarterback.
