The visitors claimed a 28-17 decision in logging their 16th win in a row. The Saints fell behind by 10 points in the third quarter before putting up 21 unanswered.   I watched a lot of interesting prospects compete on both sides of the ball and will be writing about more of them down the road. Here is a closer look at the first group of student-athletes that stood out:    Doyle delivered when called upon during Xavier's unbeaten state championship run in 2025. The junior rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries, and caught two passes for 25 yards in backing up a bell-cow senior running back. The role prepared Doyle to become the leading man this fall. He demonstrated that during the Saints' 3-0 start, rushing 443 yards (6.2 YPC) and three scores, while adding four receptions for 28 yards. I watched him rumble for 194 yards and a TD on 29 carries during a 28-17 win against Clear Creek Amana in Tiffin on Friday. Doyle is a taller back with long strides and smooth actions. He flows well with the play, patiently waits for blocks to set up and finding creases to squirt through. Already with power, he becomes tougher to tackle when he gets a head of steam. It's a projectable frame capable of adding good weight. There's a path to success at another position on the next level, as well, thanks to athleticism and agility.     Before Friday night's game against defending champion Xavier on Friday, I last scouted Bollers in person during last regular-season's meeting with eventual Class 4A semifinalist Newton. The sophomore was making his first varsity start at quarterback and threw a long touchdown pass on the opening drive. Newton chased him around pretty good that night but lessons were learned. You could see the growth against the Saints on Friday, much of it in decision making, as the arm, speed, elusiveness and athleticism have been present for some time. Bollers still faced stiff pressure from Xavier, but he often found open receivers while on the move or tucked the ball and picked up ground yards. He finished throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. A good athlete, Bollers is a baseball prospect, too. The upside on the gridiron is intriguing, though. It feels like there's plenty of room to grow before hitting that high ceiling.     Sometimes at programs like Xavier, one must wait his turn. That's was the case for Weiss, who did catch six passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns during the Saints' unbeaten run to a state championship last season. He also stood out on special teams, averaging 35.5 yards and scoring a touchdown on six kick returns, and averaging 16.7 yards on 13 punt returns. While he's continued excelling in the return game, Weiss is being leaned on a lot more in the passing game. The senior leads the team, by far, with 17 receptions for 261 yards and three scores. In watching him during a 28-17 victory at Clear Creek Amana on Friday night, the burst and ability to make people miss in space that benefits Weiss on returns also work well in receiving. He can take short throws and turn them into gains by working his way through the defense.     I first saw Drake compete in person during the Back2Ballin 7v7 tournament in April of 2025 in Cedar Falls. Not the biggest guy on the field, he made plays with his toughness, speed and determination. He did that again during an in-person scout last season against Newton and Friday night when competing with defending state champion Xavier. Drake was standing out playing both ways at the Class 4A level. He helped lock up Saints receivers for a good part of the evening. On offense, he hauled in eight balls for 127 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown grab. Again, undersized in a big-person sport, Drake plays the game at a great tempo and is fearless. There's a high football IQ as well. He could help a lot of colleges with his broad skill set.     Anctil showed a lot of promise as a sophomore last season for a program that went unbeaten in winning the Class 4A state championship. You could see that when watching his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/24021380/69e6cb43976d90856f1f14fd" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/24021380/69e6cb43976d90856f1f14fd">highlight video</a>. He's built on that performance early in the 2026 campaign. I watched him live last Friday, when the Saints took down Clear Creek Amana in Tiffin. They put up more than 400 yards of offense, a lot of the 221 ground yards coming behind him at right tackle. Anctil is a big, strong presence coming off of the outside. He explodes off of the snap, brings impact at the point of attack and drives through opponents in the run game. Light on his feet, Anctil also sets up well in pass protection and can reach blocks in space. Only a junior, he's a prospect on the rise, one packed with potential.
