One of the biggest changes in this rankings cycle was the expansion of the 2027 rankings, creating opportunities for a new wave of prospects to earn their place on the board. Some of these players have steadily developed behind the scenes, while others caught our attention through updated film, camp performances, or strong junior seasons that warranted a closer look. Earning a spot in the rankings is never automatic, and each of these prospects did enough to separate themselves from a crowded field. Here are the newest additions to the 2027 Top 200 rankings.

2027 Roane County QB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1881424' first='Brennen' last='Carpenter'] enters his senior season with an opportunity to make a major impact after transferring in from Calhoun County. Carpenter showed flashes of ability while playing in a struggling program and now joins Roane County, where his skill set should be a natural fit. His athleticism and dual-threat ability give the Raiders another dimension offensively, particularly in a Wing-T system that values quarterbacks who can make plays with their legs and keep defenses honest with their arm. Carpenter has already proven he can produce at the small-school level, and the move up in classification shouldn't change that. If everything comes together, he has the potential to be one of the breakout players in Class AA this fall.

2027 Ripley DB [player_tooltip player_id='2220807' first='Jace' last='McCoy'] is another member of a strong Vikings 2027 class to make his debut in the rankings heading into his senior season. McCoy brings good length at 6'0 along with the athleticism needed to match up with a variety of receivers. One of his best traits is his ability to locate and play the football in the air, consistently tracking it well and timing his breakups and interceptions at the catch point. Those ball skills help him stand out on film and make him a difficult defender to challenge downfield. McCoy remains overlooked statewide, but he's the type of defensive back who deserves college attention as coaches continue evaluating the 2027 class.

2027 University EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1647769' first='Gavin' last='Stone'] finally makes his debut in the rankings after spending years on our radar and steadily improving his game. Stone checks in as the #7 EDGE in the class, a reflection of the work he has put in both on the field and throughout the camp circuit. He has been a familiar face at our events and consistently competes at a high level, showing noticeable growth with each passing year. While some prospects win with raw traits, Stone stands out because of how technically sound and polished he has become as a defender. His effort, development, and technique at the position make him a player D2 and D3 programs should be taking a close look at heading into his senior season.

2027 Wyoming East OL [player_tooltip player_id='2090855' first='Gabe' last='Shrewsbury'] earned a spot in the rankings after catching our attention earlier this offseason as one of the state's under-the-radar offensive linemen. Shrewsbury is undersized at 5'10 250, but the junior film was hard to ignore. He plays with a physical mentality, competes through the whistle, and consistently puts himself in position to win reps despite giving up size and length. Shrewsbury may not fit the traditional mold, but he's the type of football player D3 programs should be taking a close look at heading into his senior year.

2027 Philip Barbour OL [player_tooltip player_id='2140647' first='Kaleb' last='Corder'] makes his debut in the rankings after emerging as one of the more intriguing offensive line prospects in the class. We selected Corder as Philip Barbour's breakout player this offseason, and he'll have an opportunity to prove that prediction correct as the Colts replace key pieces up front. He brings a sturdy build at 6'1 260 along with the versatility to play multiple positions across the offensive line. Corder moves well in space, whether pulling or working to the second level, and those athletic traits add value to his projection. If he can become a leader of the offensive line this fall and continue developing physically, he has the potential to attract attention from both D2 and D3 programs.

2027 Clay-Battelle ATH/QB [player_tooltip player_id='1881425' first='Corey' last='Coen'] returns as one of the most important players on a Cee-Bees team that made a run to the state championship game a season ago. Graduation losses and transfers have changed the outlook around him, but Coen remains the type of athlete who can keep Clay-Battelle competitive every Friday night. He was a major part of what made that team go, contributing in a variety of ways and consistently making big plays. Coen's versatility and athleticism allow him to impact the game all over the field, making him one of the more entertaining small-school players to watch in the state. As he heads into his senior season, he's a prospect deserving of attention from small college programs looking for a proven playmaker.

2027 Lewis County TE/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1909812' first='Kellan' last='Wolverton'] earned a place in the rankings after putting together a solid junior season for the Minutemen. Wolverton brings value on both sides of the ball, but his long-term projection appears strongest at tight end, where his versatility stands out. He can help an offense as an in-line blocker, contribute in the run game, and provide a reliable target in the passing attack when called upon. Defensively, he also showed the ability to contribute along the line of scrimmage. Wolverton may not generate a lot of headlines, but he's the type of steady, dependable prospect that small college programs should have on their radar heading into his senior year.

2027 Philip Barbour TE/DL Sean Dent is another versatile two-way player who earned a spot in the rankings heading into his senior season. Dent has shown he can contribute on either side of the ball, making him an intriguing prospect for college coaches as they determine where he fits best long-term. He possesses a moldable frame with room to continue adding size and strength, which should only increase his value as a prospect. Dent's athleticism allows him to hold his own in multiple roles and provides a solid foundation to build on. He's the type of player D3 programs should be paying close attention to this fall.

2027 Pendleton County DL Ty Heavner earns a spot in the rankings after another highly productive season for the Wildcats. Heavner has been a consistent playmaker throughout his career and established himself as one of the top defensive linemen in Class A. While his frame may not be ideal by college standards, the production is impossible to overlook. As a junior, he piled up 110 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss while creating constant disruption at the line of scrimmage. Heavner has a knack for finding the football, and his relentless style of play has made him one of the more effective defenders in small-school football.
