One of the biggest changes in this rankings cycle was the expansion of the 2027 rankings, creating opportunities for a new wave of prospects to earn their place on the board. Some of these players have steadily developed behind the scenes, while others caught our attention through updated film, camp performances, or strong junior seasons that warranted a closer look. Earning a spot in the rankings is never automatic, and each of these prospects did enough to separate themselves from a crowded field. Here are the newest additions to the 2027 Top 200 rankings.

2027 Fairmont Senior DL Alex McGinnis earns his place in the rankings as a stout interior defender who brings plenty of size to the middle of the line. McGinnis is difficult to move at 6'1 300, and does a good job occupying blockers to free up teammates around him. His value starts with stopping the run, where he consistently clogs running lanes and forces offenses to work around him. Fairmont Senior has relied on his physical presence up front and has developed into an important part of the Polar Bears' defense. McGinnis projects as a solid D3 prospect, and if he can show the athletic traits to complement his size, D2 programs could become interested as well.

2027 Spring Mills LB/S Jacob Long enters the rankings as one of the more intriguing defensive prospects in this range. Long has a moldable 6'1 frame with plenty of room to continue adding size, which gives him flexibility in how he could be used at the next level. He shows comfort in coverage and has the length to be effective around the line of scrimmage and in run support. The athletic tools are there, and there are flashes on film that suggest his best football is still ahead of him. Long's ceiling is higher than where he currently sits in the rankings, and a strong senior season could lead to a significant rise.

2027 Lincoln WR Colton Edwards earned a spot in the rankings after a productive junior season. While he may not be the biggest receiver, Edwards consistently finds ways to create separation and make defenders miss in space. He was a key piece of Lincoln's offense last season and should remain one of the Cougars' top weapons heading into his senior year. A new quarterback could impact his overall production, but the talent is still there to put together another strong campaign. Edwards brings good value in this range of the rankings and is a player D3 programs should have on their radar this fall.

2027 Roane County ATH Brodey Proctor is a player worth following as he heads into his senior season. Injuries limited him for much of his junior year and kept him off the radar, but the talent is evident when he's healthy and on the field. Proctor gives the Raiders another versatile weapon and should be heavily involved in the Raiders' Wing-T attack while also contributing as a defensive back. His athleticism allows him to impact the game in a variety of ways, which makes projecting him to the next level an interesting discussion. Whether on offense or defense, Proctor has the skill set to attract attention from D3 programs seeking a versatile athlete.

2027 Herbert Hoover LB Colton Tawney makes his debut in the rankings as the #33 linebacker in the class after continuing to impress whenever we've had the chance to evaluate him. A past top performer at one of our camps, Tawney has shown the athleticism and competitiveness that translate well to the linebacker position. Film has been limited, but the production on the field and the traits he displays are difficult to ignore. He may not possess ideal length, but he plays downhill, attacks running lanes, and shows a willingness to take on blocks and finish plays. Tawney's motor is high, and his ability to fit the run, blitz, and pursue the football gives Herbert Hoover a productive presence in the middle of its defense.

2027 St. Marys LB Jeremiah DeMoss earns a spot in the rankings after establishing himself as one of the better small-school players in the state. A two-way standout for the Blue Devils, DeMoss brings athleticism and versatility to the field while making an impact in multiple phases of the game. He comes from an athletic family and looks poised to be the next in line to continue playing at the college level if that's the path he chooses. DeMoss should be one of the top linebackers in Class A this season and will be a key piece for St. Marys on both sides of the ball. He's a prospect that D3 programs should be paying close attention to this fall.

2027 Clay County RB/LB Brody Scarbro enters the rankings as an intriguing developmental prospect in the class. At 6'1 195, Scarbro brings a good frame and the type of physical traits that immediately catch your attention when evaluating upside. He contributes on both sides of the ball for the Panthers and has shown flashes of what he can become as he continues to develop. Scarbro is still a raw player in several areas, but the foundation is there for significant growth over time. His ceiling is higher than his current ranking, and a strong senior season could go a long way toward unlocking that potential and attracting college interest.

2027 Winfield LB Carson Samples earns a spot in the rankings after another productive season for the Generals' defense. Samples finished third on the team with 89 tackles as a junior, consistently finding his way to the football and making plays. While he may not have the ideal size for the position, he compensates with athleticism, instincts, and a relentless motor that shows up throughout the game. Samples plays bigger than his measurements and has a knack for putting himself in a position to make stops. His production and effort make him a player worth knowing heading into his senior season and a prospect that should draw attention from D3 programs.

2027 South Charleston OL Jackson Slack earns a place in the rankings after putting together quality film as part of a loaded Black Eagles offensive line. Size will be the first thing colleges point to, but turn on his tape, and it's easy to see why he belongs on the board. Slack plays with a physical edge, finishes blocks, and consistently brings energy from snap to whistle. He may not receive the same attention as some of the bigger names around him, but he is an important piece of one of the state's most talented fronts. His toughness, strength, and play style project well to the small college level, where he has the potential to become a very good D3 player.

2027 Mingo Central DB Davion Joplin is one of the more under-the-radar defensive backs in the class, but college coaches are already starting to take notice. He recently picked up an offer from Ohio Northern and has begun generating interest from the small college level. What Joplin lacks in size, he more than makes up for with his physicality and willingness to throw his body around. He plays the game with an aggressive mindset, loves contact, and delivers some of the biggest hits you'll find on a highlight reel. Joplin is simply a fun player to watch, and with another strong season, additional D3 programs should be joining the mix.
