Up there as one of the best CBs in attendance at Bemidji State’s War on the Shore Big School Team Camp, Maple Grove has a stud on the perimeter in TJ Williams TJ Williams 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Maple Grove | 2027 State MN . Not the tallest corner you’ve ever seen, but Williams makes up for it in competitiveness, athleticism, technique, and more than anything, ball skills. Williams is a tremendous 50/50 ball defender, and he produced a deep fade PBU vs. Shakopee during mixers, where his excellent ball skills and vertical ability/competitiveness for his size were on full displays. Williams also had one of the best breakups during the War on the Shore competition, producing a PBU vs. Simley on a QB roll out, diving effort and well-timed break on a deep out-breaking route. This kid is STICKY!

One of a few defensive backs that caught my attention last week at the Bemidji State Big School Team Camp out of Maple Grove, was a name we’ve gotten on our radar at camps over the summer as cornerback TJ Williams TJ Williams 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Maple Grove | 2027 State MN had some reps that caught our attention yet again this summer. I felt watching TJ’s reps in pass coverage that even in the short time seeing him since the UND Flagship Camp, he’s got slightly more physical with his ball-tracking ability and his lateral movement is more flexible on each of the three levels of the field especially with his reps I saw carry more to the middle of the field. Just got his first offer from MSU-Moorhead a couple weeks ago and I surely could see more attention coming from the NSIC coming soon as he’s got the means of being a senior bloomer for Maple Grove.

A defensive back that’s been on our camp radars a handful this summer that had another productive camp showing as one of the best Minnesota cornerbacks in attendance, was Maple Grove’s TJ Williams TJ Williams 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Maple Grove | 2027 State MN . The 5’9 160 pounder ran a 4.75 40-yard dash and his most productive testing number came with his pro agility which was a top-tier 4.35 amongst the defensive backs in attendance. His ability to pin WRs early in their reps off-balance is what struck a chord with me for TJ in his live eval, as he showed that off numerous times in Grand Forks on Thursday afternoon. I heard a few college coaches mention TJ’s name on Thursday, but as of right now he’s one that surprises me after a production June on the camp circuit, why he doesn’t have an offer yet.

PRZMN has been hearing behind the scenes that Maple Grove DB TJ Williams has been having a good offseason. Well, consider the rumors true, as the Maple Grove CB was an easy selection for top performer status, in all phases of the camp, out of the DB group. One of the quickest, most controlled, and most consistent DBs during drill work, Williams transitioned the successful and impressive warm up into 1v1s with noticeable emphasis. Athletic enough to hang with every WR at the camp in terms of speed/quickness, Williams was very comfortable maintaining phase while keeping his eyes on a WR’s hip as the route developed. He could get in and out of his breaks with ease and was comfortable, physical, and effective when the ball was in the air, whether under a hanging deep ball or a rocket of an underneath throw. Williams was very productive and eye-catching during 1v1s, routinely getting the Minnesota Gopher DBs in attendance hyped thanks to his stickiness throughout competition. Should be a big season for Williams in the new-look 2026 Maple Grove roster.
