About Elijah
Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Escamilla may be slightly undersized for a middle linebacker at 5’7 but his instincts, vision and toughness consistently allow him to play bigger than his frame suggests. He has a strong feel for reading plays and filling running lanes quickly, putting himself in position to meet ball carriers at the point of attack. Escamilla also stands out as a reliable open field tackler, showing the ability to close space and finish plays with solid technique. His motor and ability to stay around the football make him an intriguing defensive prospect to monitor. This offseason, a major focus will be adding strength and physicality to help him continue competing against bigger opponents. As his body develops and his confidence continues to grow, Escamilla has the potential to become a linebacker who earns much more recognition in the 2028 class.

Read EvaluationRobert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Escamilla delivered a strong statistical season with 83 total tackles and two tackles for loss, while also impacting the passing game with multiple pass breakups. At 5’7 and 170 pounds, his long term projection may lean toward a hybrid linebacker/safety role, where his quickness and instincts can be maximized in space. Escamilla plays with urgency and a noticeable edge, attacking ball carriers and finishing with strong contact. Continued development in the weight room will be important as he works to disengage from blocks more consistently. With added strength and offseason exposure, he has the tools to elevate his profile and continue ascending the rankings.
