We have a very interesting Class of 2027 defensive line class. It's a great mix of great on-field performance and guys who are a little more raw, but with massive upside. Below are five players who were previously on our watch list but have since jumped into our rankings.

I really like what Darryl has put on tape. Akron thinks so too, as they sent out an offer back in April.

Daryl wins with speed and motor. I really like Daryl's getoff, and he does a nice job using his hands and getting skinny in order to get into the opposing backfield. Additionally, there are a few moments of promising bend. With an elite getoff and great motor, Daryl puts himself in a good position this offseason. In my view, he tracks as a DT in college, and I'm hoping he continues growing into that role. If he proves to be taller than 6'1"-6'2", he could play 5-tech.

Dalton has true upside. I like his tape, and he showed promise last weekend at Rising Stars.

In terms of stats, Dalton had a major breakout year. 45 tackles, 12TFLs, and 39 pressures. On tape, his getoff and motor are the highlights. I love the way Dalton fires off the ball, and he's quick enough to blow by slower linemen. Additionally, he does a great job of keeping his feet moving. No stopping, and no going backward, Dalton does a good job at working upfield.

Last weekend at Rising Stars, Dalton had a good performance. I saw that same great getoff, but he absolutely needs to continue to work on his hands.

Grady is another guy showing quite a bit of promise. Similar to Dalton, I'm most intrigued by his effort and burst. It doesn't always show up, but when it does, it's impressive. In his moments of amazing burst, Grady is able to cover a ton of ground in a very short amount of time. Simply rushing the gap in front of him or working on a stunt, Grady shows tremendous flashes.

I'd love to see Grady in person at some point this offseason. I have questions about other parts of his game, and I'd love to see how Grady does against offseason competition.

The Defensive Lineman of the year for De La Salle this season!

Jayden took a big step forward in his Junior season. Against Brother Rice, I thought Jayden's speed really stood out. Jayden has an excellent motor, consistent getoff, and active hands. I know he's capable of being a very efficient player, and I'm very happy to have gotten an in-person evaluation.

Though I'm still waiting for more tape. I have not gotten around to watching more full games on NFHS, and that time will come. For now, I'd still love to see a full highlight tape or a performance at a prospect camp.

An all-SVL honorable mention, Logan has promising tape against good competition.

No full-season tape yet, but a few great single-game tapes. Against Midland, I like how Logan fired off the ball and was able to swim or rip past a tall offensive tackle. Additionally, I like Logan's anchor- he looks like a strong football player. He knows how to use his hands, and his feet keep moving throughout every rep. I would love to see more in terms of bend, but his existing traits should make for an intriguing prospect this spring.
