Championship week is here and Prep Redzone Tennessee will have complete coverage on every game taking place in Chattanooga, starting with our game previews. Here we breakdown the 6A showdown between the Patriots and the Raptors in what could be a very close game.

It's not surprising that Oakland and Ravenwood will be fighting for the Class 6A title as both talented teams were favorites to win the championship at the start of the 2025 campaign. The Patriots and the Raptors have been unstoppable this year as they've not lost once and have continued to showcase their talent in commanding wins throughout the playoffs. It's going to be very interesting to see which one of these talented squads can bring home the "gold ball."

Seeing as both ball clubs play quick and physical football on both sides, I am expecting this matchup to be extremely close. In last year's showdown between the Patriots and the Raptors during the regular season, Ravenwood left Murfreesboro with a 32-31 overtime win over Oakland. This year's title game matchup between the two should be just as close as both teams have tons of talent and a great coaching staff. I would be shocked if this game between Oakland and Ravenwood is determined any earlier than the fourth quarter of action.

- - - - -

Key Players to Know

Oakland Patriots

'29 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='424644' first='Kam' last='Morton']: One of the more talented freshman quarterbacks in the state of Tennessee. Morton has played outstanding at the helm of the Patriots' offense this year. One aspect of Morton's playstyle that will come in handy against the Raptors is his ability to play quick off the snap and consistently find wide open receivers in the backfield. I also like Morton's size and ability to adapt to pressure, using his strong footwork to escape tackles.

'26 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='856867' first='Craig' last='Tutt']: I Really like how Tutt contributes to the Patriots' offensively, proving he can be a huge threat on the ground. Tutt's size and speed makes a huge difference and could make him extremely hard to contain for the Raptors in the state title game.

'26 (WR/EDGE) [player_tooltip player_id='1281472' first='Joel' last='Wyatt']: One of the best players in the state of Tennessee for the class of 2026. Wyatt plays outstanding on both sides of the ball. With great size and speed, Wyatt can make the clutch catch as well as defend the long ball on the defensive end. Wyatt can also elevate off the ground to haul in the interception.

- - -

Ravenwood Raptors

'26 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='402540' first='Femi' last='Babalola']: Babalola is an extremely talented gunslinger that can prove to be unpredictable, especially in big games. What impresses me about Babalola is his ability to run the rock himself and complete the clutch deep pass. I also like how Babalola can respond to pressure, using his footwork to escape tackles and buy himself more time to complete the pass.

'26 (QB) [player_tooltip player_id='402559' first='Maverick' last='Chance']: Chance is another gunslinger on the Raptors' roster to watch out for as the Navy commit is highly explosive on the ground, proving he barrel through the defense and fight for those extra yards. Chance can also be unpredictable in the air, showing off his ability to hit his receivers in stride from anywhere on the field.

'26 (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1287024' first='Cy' last='Longley']: Longley is another big-time offensive weapon on the Raptors' roster to keep an eye on. Longley's explosive speed and athleticism make a huge difference in the endzone as he can consistently get up in the air to haul in the touchdown pass. Longley could be a challenge for Oakland's defense as he has been able to shake coverage down the stretch all season long.

'26 (DB) [player_tooltip player_id='1610490' first='Jaylen' last='Pollard']: Pollard catches my attention defensively with his ability to make the clutch defensive play. Pollard can read the opposing offense like a book and hop right in front of the pass to pick up the interception. Pollard also stands out with his ability to pressure the run game and make big stops in crunch time.

- - - - -

How Can Oakland Win?

Oakland is going to need to play their best football of the season if they want to defeat Ravenwood. With guys like Tutt and Wyatt, I can see Oakland being very productive on the offensive end. Seeing as the Patriots are a really physical team defensively that can create pressure, that's going to really help them limit Ravenwood's offense on the ground. I think defending the backfield from the deep pass is going to be a must for the Patriots as the Raptors have tons of strong receivers that can make big plays. The Patriots will also need to pressure the quarterback as much as possible as Babalola and Chance are really good at adapting and picking up yards on the ground.

- - -

How Can Ravenwood Win?

The Raptors will need to capitalize on every possible opportunity if they want to defeat the Patriots. With a great receiver core, I'm expecting some big offensive play from Ravenwood. Two guys to watch out for are Longley and Kelley as both can make the big touchdown catch. I'm also expecting the Raptors' offensive line to play extremely well, giving the quarterback some space to run the rock. Defense is going to be important for the Raptors as Oakland has several dangerous players that can easily make plays on the offensive side of the ball. The Raptors will also need their defense to protect the backfield and lock down the passing game.

- - -

Game Prediction

Both teams are very evenly matched and are fast and physical ball clubs. I can't see either team running away with this one and expect this matchup to be decided late in the fourth quarter, maybe even in overtime. I'm predicting Oakland will be victorious over Ravenwood as they can easily match the Raptors' physicality with some great size. I expect the Raptors to struggle in containing Wyatt and Tutt as both are very good at making plays under pressure. Oakland's defense will also make it very difficult to score on them, but I could see some big plays from Ravenwood's receivers down the stretch. Covering Ravenwood's receivers is going to be crucial for Oakland if they want to win this one. I'm predicting the Patriots will escape with a close 31-28 win over the Raptors.

Score: Oakland 31 Ravenwood 28
