Scouting Notes: Evaluating Most Efficient QBs in Alabama

Here are some notes on the most efficient QBs in Alabama this fall. From already solidified seniors to middle schoolers, there's a lot of talent across different levels and classifications featured on this list.    Bradley, a Clemson commit, has long been one of my favorite QBs in Alabama. He is undersized, but compensates. He plays with an easy-going pace and excels at ball placement to each level of the field. He proves capable of manipulating touch and trajectory on the ball to drop it into hard to reach areas. He also gives his receivers room to run away from defenders after the catch. He has more than adequate arm strength for his size, and his quick release and trigger helps him better attack short windows. He is a twitchy, explosive athlete who can move the chains on third down and dart around would-be tacklers. He is completing over 71% of his passes this year, and doing so while attacking each area of the field.     [player_tooltip player_id='1624913' first='Alvin' last='Dinkins'] is a big, athletic QB prospect with a high completion percentage and low turnover rate despite gunslinger qualities. His tape is littered with bombs down the field and plays on the move. He has an elastic enough arm to make plays off-script without much of a drop off in velocity. He is a smooth athlete and does a good job of evading pressure to keep plays alive. Dinkins generates big plays and is efficient while doing so.     Seaborn, a recent Alabama commit, has produced on varsity and received national love since 8th grade. That production has carried well into his junior season. Seaborn is a shorter prospect with room left to fill out. He is athletic enough to shift around the pocket and move the launching point. He is a natural arm talent. He has a quick release and can change up arm angles. The ball jumps out of his hand and arrives with high velocity. Seaborn has a higher floor than most QBs in his class, which is due to the fact that he has produced on varsity before he was even in HS.     Blevins is a lean, lanky QB prospect with a baseball background. He is a loose athlete who can make something happen when the play breaks down. He generates easy life and spin on the ball. I am really impressed with his touch, especially in the redzone. It's not an easy skill to gear down and get the nose to turn over in tight spots, but Blevins proves on tape that he can make that kind of throw while protecting the ball from defenders.     Lollar is a stout, thickly built QB prospect, almost built more like an RB. Lollar is a little unconventional as a QB prospect, doing most of his damage when the play breaks down and when on the move. His improv skills are impressive, frequently escaping from and making something out of chaos. He has a playstyle that is usually not too efficient, but he is completing nearly 74% of his passes on the season.     No QB in Alabama has raised their recruiting stock in Alabama this fall quite like Roberts. Roberts has elite traits, both as a runner and as a passer. He moves exceptionally well at 6'3 195, proving durable enough to fall forward at contact and loose enough as an athlete to shake defenders. Roberts has easy, elite arm strength. It doesn't take much effort for him to let the ball loose and drive it around the field. Roberts will excel in an offense that gives him the freedom to create with his legs while also taking his shots vertically. Really impressive athlete.     Similar to Seaborn, Rivers has started and produced his entire varsity career. He is lean, offering plenty of space to add more mass to his frame. Rivers is a natural arm talent who can touch each level of the field. The booming trajectory on the deep ball is the most impressive part of his game, but he is capable of tightening it up and driving it into tight windows when needed. Rivers is an all-around elite prospect with both a high floor and a high ceiling.     Despite still being in middle school, Moody is amongst the most productive and efficient QBs in Alabama this fall. He is undersized, but still has time for that size and frame to come around. Regardless, he is really reigned in as a passer for his age. The ball comes off his hand better than you would think for his size. He has good touch and gets the ball to turn over when dropping it over the top. Moody is obviously a good operator and has a good feel for the position. Now, let's see how those traits come along. At his age, he could look like a completely different prospect a year from now.
