Joiner decided to give football a try this season. The move has worked out splendidly. In just five games through seven weeks, the senior had hauled in 27 balls for 672 yards (24.9 YPC) and eight touchdowns. He also averaged 15.3 yards on three punt returns, flashing potential in that phase, too. Joiner's highlight video features a dynamic weapon on the outside. He's a matchup problem for shorter cornerbacks with an ability to high-point the ball and win in the air. His frame and quickness also allow for plays to be made on shorter routes, where speed and burst lead to winning contributions. Joiner started five games for the North basketball team last winter and was a regular part of the rotation, highlighting the athleticism brought to the gridiron. With plenty of room for development on the field and the raw tools to succeed, colleges should be excited about adding him to the roster.

If Gbarjolo's junior season of 2024 probably should have earned him more attention on the recruiting trail, his senior season this fall definitely is worthy of a lot more attention. Like last season, he recorded a Pick-6 on one of his two interceptions. Gbarjolo also had 16 solo tackles, a fumble recovery and a pair of tackles for loss. During his midseason highlight video, we witness an intriguing defensive back with current production and significant upside. He embraces the game's physicality and has a frame capable of adding mass without the loss of quickness and agility. Gbarjolo also benefits from long arms and fluid actions during his backpedal. He could be a cornerback, perhaps in the slot, or flip to safety, where his skills would play up and his physical style welcomed.

McIntire stood out to me with his performance as a sophomore in 2025, and I wrote about him last winter. Circling back around on the talented '27 prospect, it looks like he's taken another step forward as a junior. Through the first seven weeks, McIntire rushed 99 times for 622 yards and nine touchdowns, and caught nine balls for 143 yards and a score. He also averaged 22.4 yards on eight kick returns. McIntire shows good instincts as a ball carrier. He flows with the play and takes what the defense gives him. Humboldt lines him up offset and out of the I-formation, sometimes handing him the ball and delivering it on pitches in other instances, he keeps his head up and uses strong vision to locate running lanes. His burst gets him through them, and he has another gear once breaking into space. His athleticism and speed work well at running back, but they also keep open possibilities for a position change on the next level.

A transfer from Iowa City High, Herman has made a significant impact at Danville on both sides of the ball this season. Herman is a physical interior lineman, operating with good pad level and power. That works really well at guard, where he overwhelms opponents with force and strong hands. They're on their heels early in plays after he fires off of the snap. Herman bursts forward fast on defense, too. There, he also shows quickness and athleticism for a bigger kid. As much as physicality is a big part of Herman's success now, the senior has room to add mass and strength to his frame. He could help schools in the trenches on the next level. It's up to them to decide at which position he'd be most impactful.

Lawson stuffed the stat sheet for one of the few unbeaten teams remaining heading into Week 8 of the 2025 season. Through the first seven games, the senior had caught 34 balls for 703 yards and 11 touchdowns. He added 142 yards and two scores on 19 carries. On defense, he produced 28.5 tackles (18 solo), intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble. He also averaged 25.2 yards on four kick returns, which highlighted his speed and elusiveness with the rock in his hands. Lawson is effective on the outside but is best suited for the slot, where he can use his talents making people miss in space. He's solidly put together, which also helps him break tackles and run over defenders. Lawson sells his routes well and adds value as a blocker in the run game. He's worth a closer look for colleges looking to add potential in multiple phases.

Despite being limited by injury last season, Heemskerk flashed potential when he was on the field. I wrote about him in the spring and wanted to check in to see how things were going for him as a senior. The answer? Quite well. Heemskerk led the Wolfpack with 38 receptions for 520 yards and nine touchdowns through the first seven weeks of 2025. On defense, he piled up 61.0 tackles (53 solo, 2.0 TFL) with an interception and a fumble recovery. He also averaged 35.2 yards with a TD on four punt returns and 21.0 yards on 16 kick returns. Heemskerk is capable of helping colleges on either side of the ball and special teams, depending on need and vision for his future. His receiver skills include speed and sharp route running with a good feel for getting open. As a defensive back, Heemskerk operates at a high tempo with physicality.
