Five weeks into the season we take a look at the NW's top 25 teams and how they rank. Oregon continues to dominate Washington opponents in head-to-head matchups, but Washington consistently has more teams in the top 25 with a 16-9 advantage. Check it..

11.Eastside Catholic WA (4-1)

Always a state title contender. Eastside has lost their last 4 games over 3 years to O'Dea. They recently lost another close contest to the Irish 24-20. Getting past their conference rival will be the key and there is a good chance they will meet again in the playoffs or the 3A state title game.

12.Tualatin OR (4-1)

Tualatin runs one of the most impressive programs top to bottom in the NW. They took a 49-24 L to #1 Lake Oswego this past week with all everything athlete [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'] still injured. That being said the T Wolves feature an elite group of underclassmen that will rival West Linn in the years ahead, led by the state's fastest rising 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1609595' first='Iden' last='Rule'] and 6-4 Edge/TE [player_tooltip player_id='1609596' first='Brady' last='Knips'].

13.Lakeridge OR (3-2)

As everyone knows the Pacers had a tough loss to start the year against Nelson and then a heartbreaker to Central Catholic 14-13. The question becomes can Lakeridge finally get over the hump and make a run come playoff time? The roster is ridiculously talented and if it's not this year then...

14.Mount Tahoma WA (5-0)

The T-Birds have been playing good football against relatively decent competition. 20+ point wins over Camas, Lincoln, and a closer one against Mount Si speak to that. They could very well head into the playoffs undefeated.

15.Bellevue WA (3-2)

Bellevue had a respectable 21-14 loss to Lake Stevens a few weeks back and then got tripped up by an always solid Bothell program 36-35 on Friday. The Wolverines are used to playing for state titles and they will likely still be in the mix, but they will need to show up from now on out in big ball games, starting with a good Skyline team this week.

16.Nelson OR (4-1)

Give all the credit in the world to the athletes and coaches at Nelson who have won big ball games against Top 10 competition in Lakeridge and Mountainside. The 43-15 loss to Timberline out of Boise was unexpected to say the least. At lot will come down to their matchup with Central Catholic who is good but beatable. If they can do that, then anything is possible in the playoffs.

17.Willamette OR (5-0)

This is the pretender versus contender debate. The roster is loaded with division 1 talent. That's not the question. What we don't know is how they will do against top competition, and we won't see that until the playoffs. They play zero teams ranked in the 6A top 10 during the year.

18.Mountainside OR (3-2)

The Mavericks have been playing good ball and have respectable losses to Lakeridge and Nelson. [player_tooltip player_id='1232699' first='Cade' last='Mitchell'] is the real deal, and he has solid players all around him. They blasted a decent Sunset team 56-20 last week and will look to win back-to-back Metro League titles when they play Jesuit on the 17th.

19.Chiawana WA (5-0)

Chiawana is consistently one of the top teams in WA at the 4A level. They are currently undefeated but haven't really played anybody. The Riverhawks graduated a super talented senior class which helped them reach the state semi's last year before losing in triple OT to 4A champ Sumner 37-31. They will play undefeated Kennewick and then Richland in a few weeks.

20.Jesuit OR (3-2)

Right now Jesuit is a good football team that has rallied behind Jr. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1591586' first='Luke' last='Ortner'] and a talented senior class. If they can get 3* Nevada commit [player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] back, it's a completely different ball game, and they will have a chance to make a run in the playoffs.

21.Kennewick WA (5-0)

There typically aren't a bunch of big-time recruits which come out of the Kennewick program but year after year they compete for a conference title and make a run in the playoffs. This season is no different.

22.Skyline WA (4-1)

This next week will be extremely telling when Skyline plays Bellevue. If they can get the win against the Wolverines, they will have the inside track on the conference title with victories over Bothell and Eastlake already. The 47-35 loss earlier in the season to Tahoma was surprising.

23.Bothell WA (3-2)

Bothell got a huge 36-35 win over Bellevue last Friday, also beating a good Kennedy Catholic team 33-28 to start the year. That being said their 33-28 loss to a (2-4) Lewiston, Idaho team is one that makes you question things. Overall, it's been a good season.

24.Kennedy Catholic (3-2)

The Lancers have D1 prospects up and down their roster, but that doesn't always translate in the post season. Their losses were to state champ Sumner 28-0 and Bothell 33-28. They will be somewhat of an unknown as we head into playoffs with the 4A North Puget Sound Conference not providing much competition.

25.Lakes WA (5-0)

Lakes got a big win over a good Curtis team 21-17 a few weeks back. They have beaten there other four opponents by an average margin of 42-3. Their strength of schedule isn't the best but take nothing away from their dominance so far this year.
