Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: OscarGalindo30 in the coupon code area.

The season has QUICKLY flown by as we are now at the halfway point! Over the past five weeks, there have been many exciting games, players, and moments that have caught everyone's attention. This week, instead of just posting our PRZNE Class Rankings on Instagram, I decided to provide a quick breakdown, including a look at how the season has progressed so far for each of the Top 10 teams.

Here is my "Midseason Report" for Class C1:

Class A

Class B

Class C2

Class D1

Class D2

1 - Wahoo (5-0): The reigning Class C1 champions have not slowed down one bit as they continue to steamroll their way through their schedule. Through five games, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 237-21, including three shutouts: Nebraska City (55-0), #5 Ashland-Greenwood (35-0), and Gross Catholic (49-0). They also have impressive wins against Aurora (42-7) and DC West (56-14).

Remaining schedule: #8 Mount Michael Benedictine (4-1), @ Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (2-3), #9 Fort Calhoun (4-1), and @ Omaha Concordia (4-1).

2 - Central City (5-0): Right on the champion's heels is last year's runner-up, Central City, which has looked like a team on a mission. They have rolled to a 5-0 record with wins over Ord (38-7), Cozad (48-7), Minden (42-0), Nebraska City (53-0), and Adams Central (56-27).

Remaining schedule: @ Lincoln Christian (2-3), Milford (4-1), Broken Bow (1-4), and @ Aurora (2-3).

3 - Sidney (5-0): It's a logjam at the near the top of the C1 rankings, but Sidney continues to hold on to the #3 spot in our rankings. The Red Raiders started the season with a pair of shutouts, holding Cozad (35-0) and Minden (20-0) scoreless. Their next three opponents have hardly fared any better as they've held Holdrege (40-7), Mitchell (48-7), and Gothenburg (21-6) to a total of 20 points.

Remaining schedule: @ Ogallala (1-4), Chase County (1-4), @ Alliance (3-2), and Chadron (4-1).

4 - Columbus Lakeview (5-0): Consistently near the top are the Columbus Lakeview Vikings, who have made quick work of the first half of their schedule. They have three wins against teams with a winning record, including Gross Catholic (38-9), Roncalli Catholic (46-0), and a previously undefeated Mount Michael (21-7). Additionally, they beat Adams Central (34-6) and Schuyler (69-8) to round out their 5-0 record.

Remaining schedule: @ Wayne (1-4), Scotus Central Catholic (1-4), @ #7 Pierce (4-1), and #6 O'Neill (5-0).

5 - Ashland-Greenwood (4-1): You can always expect to see Ashland-Greenwood in the mix for the top teams in Class C1, with a constant churning of great players and a solid overall program. That trend continues in 2025, as the Bluejays are 4-1 heading into the second half of their schedule. So far, they have picked up wins against DC West (48-0), Scotus Central Catholic (49-28), Auburn (56-13), and Louisville (63-14), with their sole loss coming to reigning C1 champions, Wahoo (35-0).

Remaining schedule: Boys Town (2-3), @ Roncalli Catholic (3-2), Brownwell-Talbot (2-3), and Gross Catholic (3-2).

6 - O'Neill (5-0): The O'Neill Eagles start the season 5-0 for the second consecutive year and seem to have a little more juice than last year's team, which could take them further into the playoffs this season. So far, their resume consists of wins over Valentine (47-25), Gordon-Rushville (67-8), Ord (27-26), Ponca (69-0), and Wayne (47-21).

Remaining schedule: @ #7 Pierce (4-1), Schuyler (0-5), Scotus Central Catholic (1-4), and @ #4 Columbus Lakeview (5-0).

7 - Pierce (4-1): The Pierce Bluejays bounced back nicely after suffering their first loss in Week 4. They earned a hard-fought road win against Scotus Central Catholic (28-13) to move to 4-1, with their other wins including Aurora (27-21), Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (33-6), and DC West (42-6).

Remaining schedule: #6 O'Neill (5-0), @ Wayne (1-4), #4 Columbus Lakeview (5-0), and Schuyler (0-5).

8 - Mount Michael Benedictine (4-1): The Mount Michael Knights have been quite the surprise team, trotting out to a 4-1 record that includes their recent 34-20 win over the recently undefeated #9 Fort Calhoun. They reeled off three straight wins to start the season, taking down Auburn (35-0), Scotus Central Catholic (28-17), and Schuyler (69-0) before falling to #4 Columbus Lakeview (21-7).

Remaining schedule: @ #1 Wahoo (5-0), @ DC West (1-4), Omaha Concordia (4-1), and Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (2-3).

9 - Fort Calhoun (4-1): After beating a previously undefeated Pierce, the Fort Calhoun Pioneers suffer their first loss of the season to Mount Michael. Despite the loss, their strength of schedule keeps them in the Top 10 with wins against Arlington (49-6), Roncalli Catholic (27-13), Boys Town (43-8), and #7 Pierce (28-21).

Remaining schedule: Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (2-3), Omaha Concordia (4-1), @ #1 Wahoo (5-0), and @ DC West (1-4).

10 - Syracuse (5-0): Entering the top 10 is undefeated Syracuse, which has answered the bell at every stop and looks primed for a strong playoff seed. They have taken down Milford (32-20), Boys Town (22-14), Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (26-7), Lincoln Christian (34-16), and Fairbury (51-8).

Remaining schedule: @ Nebraska City (1-4), Falls City (1-4), @ Auburn (1-4), and @ Wilber-Clatonia (1-4).

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
