Expert Analysis

Even as the Silver Foxes started to throw more and more and rotated different backs, it was evident to everyone that the power of the running game was elevating Dutch Fork on a path that resulted in yet another state championship trophy. The Foxes were scoring touchdowns, not kicking field goals. Wilson was as big a part of that rushing attack as anyone.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound tailback had 595 yards and a fantasy-football lover’s dream of 13 touchdowns. Six of those scores came in a two-week span in October when he thrashed Chapin (176 yards, three TDs) and White Knoll (116, three).
He was running behind a talented offensive line – and he will be again this season – but his ability to hit the hole with authority made him ultra dangerous after the Silver Foxes had reached the red zone. On many of those touchdown runs, he appeared to be stopped for a loss, only to downshift and muscle his way through a defender.
