Get to Know Dominick Livingston
Livingston is a very coachable receiver that is a versatile talent where you can use him on the field. He’ll play the slot, he’ll play outside, and can be a fast threat in special teams as you’ll see on tape below. Livingston is a player that will put in the “work” needed to get the job done for your roster and his core strengths are his route running, speed, his hands, and accumulating yards after the catch with his foot on the gas pedal at all times.
Favorite Part About Receiver/Returner
Livingston’s favorite part about the wide receiver position is making the cornerback have a deceiving look on his face when Livingston comes up with the tough catch, which is one of the best responses to this question I’ve heard this season of my many recruiting reports I’ve done. As far as being the returner on punts and kicks, he loves finding the open lanes and making tacklers miss in the open field (as you’ll see below on film)
College Interest/His Pitch to College Coaches
Livingston has a “will” attitude that he will be playing college football after his senior season at Mahtomedi. So far he’s gotten junior day offers from Concordia-Moorhead, Concordia-St. Paul, Southwest Minnesota State, and Bethel in Arden Hills. As for his pitch to college coaches on what he brings to the table for their program’s future: “what I bring to any program would be hard work, dedication, and my competitiveness as I’m not afraid to be matched up with anybody and am up for any test,” he told Northstar Football News.
Improving for Next Season
Livingston has spent “a lot of time” in the weight room this offseason and once the snow melts, he will be outside “every single day” working on his routes, hands, and gaining more speed.
Mentoring Himself
Typically when I ask this question in a recruiting report, each player talks about a friend, coach, family member, etc. that’s pushed them to the next level as far as their game. For Livingston, that mentor is himself. He told us at NFN: “I love the game and I push myself so that not only can I be successful but so can my team. I want to be the best version of myself I can be,” as Livingston has put a strong effort into making himself better with how hard he pushes himself on and off the field.”
Learning from the 2019 Season
In Livingston’s junior season he learned the most about “patience and perseverance” as he was struggling with minor injuries, waiting behind upperclassmen that he felt he was better than as far as his talent level, etc. Livingston has similar team goals as most players I’ve chatted with, the determination to get the Zephyrs a state championship in 2020. Individually, Livingston sets to be an “All-State” receiver and to break Mahtomedi’s single-season receiving records in multiple categories.
