Yesterday, we began our evaluation of Indiana’s underrated defensive line talent in the Class of 2022. Today, we round-out that discussion by evaluating four more elite prospects. These four are dominant players, capable of completely controlling the game. All four are on the cusp of huge senior seasons. College coaches need to be aware of what these four student-athletes do this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="98035" first="DeJuan" last="Echoles"] is a game-wrecker, who excels at both defensive end and outside linebacker. Echoles is a very instinctive player. He knows where he needs to be, and he drives on every play. Echoles pursues very well. He does a great job of getting down the line to chase down the play, and he does not give up. He does an exellent job of setting the edge on run plays, allowing the rest of the defense to rally to the football. Echoles plays with great power, and he makes his presence felt on every play.

[player_tooltip player_id="98033" first="David" last="Lara-Gonzalez"] is a key player on both sides of the ball for Ben Davis. Lara-Gonzalez plays both defensive tackle and offensive guard. As a defensive tackle, Lara-Gonzalez is a space-eater in the middle. He can completely disrupt the opponent’s inside running game. On the offensive side of the ball, he is essential to having success on the ground. Lara-Gonzalez frequently pancakes defenders, and he opens up huge running lanes. Lara-Gonzalez is a tough and strong player, who always finishes the play with authority.

[player_tooltip player_id="98020" first="Jaylen" last="Lattimore"] is a premier player at both defensive end as well as outside linebacker. Lattimore is a prospect that could do well in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 defensive scheme. Lattimore possesses a great mixture of speed and power. He gets right off the ball, and he brings a relentless energy until the conclusion of the play. Any coach who is looking to apply consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback, should look no further than [player_tooltip player_id="98020" first="Jaylen" last="Lattimore"]. He constantly gets in to the oppositions backfield. Lattimore is a very disciplined player. He reads the game exceptionally well, especially when defending against the read-option. Lattimore has a great nose for the football, and he knows where he needs to be at all times.
[player_tooltip player_id="98036" first="Jaden" last="Marsh"], 6’5, 215 pounds, Andrean
[player_tooltip player_id="98036" first="Jaden" last="Marsh"] is an outstanding 3-4 defensive end for Andrean. Marsh has long arms, allowing him to control the offensive lineman that he lines up across from. Marsh does a great job of getting off blocks. He uses his hands and his great strength to get away from the blocker. Marsh pursues the ball very well. When he gets there, Marsh finishes the play in style. He is an excellent tackler. [player_tooltip player_id="98036" first="Jaden" last="Marsh"] can get after the quarterback, and he can make the opponent’s running game completely ineffective.
