Getting one college offer in a single sport is difficult enough.

Simultaneous offers in two sports from the same school? Rare.

2026 Las Cruces quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='853029' first='Gunnar' last='Guardiola'] knows what it feel like, though, as Adams State in Alamosa, CO has offered him in football and baseball.

Adams State is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).

Besides being an elite quarterback for the Bulldawgs, Guardiola is also an outstanding pitcher with a fastball in the low 90s. In fact, he's verbally committed to hometown New Mexico State in baseball. The early signing period for college baseball begins in November.

But that hasn't discouraged football teams from offering Guardiola. Besides Adams State, Guardiola has also been offered in football by New Mexico Highlands (his older brother Gage Guardiola is the RB/TE coach for the Cowboys) and Western New Mexico.

Last season, Guardiola threw for 2,069 yards and 19 TD while completing 62.2 percent of his passes as he led the Bulldawgs to the semifinals of the Class 6A playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Guardiola is a major part of what could be the top QB-RB-WR trio in the state with RB [player_tooltip player_id='1137388' first='Daniel' last='Amaro'] (1,297 rushing yards and 23 TD in 2024) and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1142363' first='Francisco' last='Winnikoff'] (team-high 51 receptions for 781 yards in 20214) also returning to the Bulldawgs in 2025.

Guardiola led Las Cruces to the Northern Arizona 7-on-7 Tournament title in June, earning MVP honors. He's also camped at Sam Houston State, Western New Mexico and NMHU.

Las Cruces opens the 2025 season Aug. 22 against rival Mayfield at Field of Dreams.
