As we approach the season, realignment is at the top of my mind. For the first time, North Carolina is going to an 8A system, which will further stratify the schools. So, over the next couple of months, I'm going through classifications to highlight the players fans will need to know.

We've arrived at the offensive linemen. The big boys up front can sometimes be harder to spot, given the lack of available stats on the internet. But these guys have excellent film and really stand out for their respective teams.

Holmes is a massive tackle prospect who flashed last year at Wilson Prep. He has power for days, both in his upper and lower body, but he's also quick off the line. That ability to fire off and engage with defenders in the running game gives him some excellent upside and with some more polish, he's a nice piece for a Division II/III team.

Gooden really improved both his technique and his body as a junior and goes into his senior year as one of the better 2A offensive linemen in the state. He can really move and has the frame to add a bit more weight, if he wants to do that. That being said, he already has a decent handle on smaller defenders in the running game, something that is more important now in Murphy's run-heavy offense.

We like Crenshaw on both sides of the ball, but I think he fits best in a piece highlighting offensive line talent at the 1A/2A level. He's a relentless competitor who moves really well for his size. He can snap the ball, and that ability to play center will impress some colleges. While I think he may end up on the defensive side of the ball in college, I do like his abilities as an interior offensive lineman.

Banks plays both ways for East Bladen, and we haven't yet decided which side of the ball we think is the best for him at the college level. While he plays some offensive tackle, he's a guard all the way at the next level. He has good balance and as he continues to add strength, he should get better and better.

Bodrick is a rock solid tackle on Tarboro's elite rushing offense and if you were to build a Tarboro tackle in a lab, he'd look a lot like the star rising senior. He has elite leg drive thanks to excellent strength. He rarely overcommits in the running game, and his patience allows him to keep defenders at bay, rather than falling off-balance.
