Ryan is a key piece of the Franklin defense, able to play anywhere along the defensive line. He can line up at DE in an odd or even front as well as sliding inside as a rush DT. Ryan is a physical tough player who shows nice strength. Able to shed off blockers and collapse the pocket. He gets off the ball low and wins with leverage and power. Ryan is also light on his feet and able to move nicely laterally. Shows good hips and quick burst, able to re-direct and chase down the ball. He makes impacts on the play that don’t always show in the box score but he is vital do what Franklin does on D. A high academic prospect too, I think Ryan should get plenty of D3 Academic interest this fall.
