Shelice’s Angels Girls Flag Jamboree, Top Performers Post-Event

This past weekend, La Salle College High School hosted a first-of-its-kind football camp, led by one of its most accomplished and well-known alumni—Indianapolis Colts linebacker and NFL Global Flag Ambassador, Zaire Franklin. I had the privilege of covering this incredible event.

The camp was organized through Zaire Franklin's non-profit foundation, Shelice's Angels, named in honor of his late mother. The foundation is dedicated to empowering not only young women, but all youth in the communities it serves.

Heisman Trophy winner and Super Bowl Champion DeVonta Smith was among the special guests, taking time to speak with the young women in attendance. Additionally, several prominent female figures in the sport contributed to the event, including Team USA Women's Flag Safety Amber Clark and Wide Receiver Izzy Geraci. Both athletes led skill sessions for girls of all ages and offered words of encouragement following the camp.

It was truly an honor to not only be invited but to be given the opportunity to provide these young women with a platform. Huge shout out to COach E at Lansdale Catholic for allowing me to be a part of this event.

In the piece below, I will highlight some of the top-performing girls from the camp—providing them with the same recognition and coverage I offer at every event I attend.

Crysta Jenkins - #46 - Imhotep Charter - 11th Grade

Performances aside, taking a look at all the prospects present at this event, I'd say Imhotep's Crysta Jenkins looked like the most recruitable player. Jenkins displayed a serious understanding of the ins and outs of both sides of the ball. A great mover, good hands, and a leader of every group she found herself in. Watching her navigate the field, catch footballs for scores, I came away thinking Jenkins was easily the most experienced and well-rounded prospect in attendance. Yes, I think a few other girls present had bigger days, yet I stand firmly on the notion that Jenkins is a recruitable flag football player. I hope college's recruiting young women in the Philly area make sure to check-in on Jenkins at 'Tep.

Great ball and catch, 46 Jenkins on the receiving end. #GirlsFlagJamboree @PhillysFinest7 @ZiggySmalls_ https://t.co/1TYjPs3cW1 pic.twitter.com/NQerODBJZg

Kori Allmond - #58 - High School of the Future - 10th Grade

Some young ladies whose game caught my eye today at the Girls Flag Jamboree.

Gabriella Moncriffe - #24 - High School of the Future - 10th Grade

One of the better QBs present, you can take one look at the video below to get the idea of how Moncriffe was operating this past weekend. In command of her huddle, Moncriffe looked comfortable as a leader in this setting, despite meeting many of the girls around her for the first time. I'm unaware of her experience level at QB, yet from what I can tell, she looks relatively well-seasoned. She tossed the football 20-25 yards with ease. Was a pleasure watching her work.

Moncriffe and Allmond linked up for a score below, great ball out of 24. #GirlsFlagJamboree @ZiggySmalls_ @PhillysFinest7 https://t.co/1TYjPs3cW1 pic.twitter.com/AhyLzCs4Iy

Savannah James - #42 - Quakertown - 11th Grade

Not a true QB prospect apparently, yet Quakertown's Savannah James stepped up at QB during the 5v5 portion of the event and looked the part. Great spiral, accurate on all her passes, she led two-three scoring drives beside Ghazaz and company, many of which are mentioned below. She could be a promising DB prospect if QB isn't where she wants to play at the next level. After watching throw the rock, I'd implore her to give the position a serious look.

Sabrine Ghazaz #68 - Cedar Creek - 11th Grade

I was impressed with several young ladies in attendance, yet no other prospect in attendance wowed me like Cedar Creek junior Sabrine Ghazaz. Love the attention to detail she paid to all coaches through individuals/agility drills. Always an attempt to be first in line, a serious tone and approach to everything presented to her. If Sabrine wants to pursue flag football at the college level, some program is going to be through the roof once they realize the type of player they are bringing in. Ghazaz played both ways at this event, coming down with several splash plays during the events 5v5 portion. Great YAC ability, great awareness of her surroundings, great ball-tracker too. I'd say I came away more impressed with Ghazaz's prowess on defense. Real route recognition, she showed off a real understanding of man and zone concepts. You can see a great PBU she recorded in the video below, on top of some of her offensive production. The MVP of the camp, in my opinion.

A quick montage of great reps out of the four young ladies below.

#68 can BALL. Excited to write about them this weekend. #GirlsFlagJamboree @PhillysFinest7 @ZiggySmalls_ https://t.co/zrchWkjVqK pic.twitter.com/cNAyBMSKHZ

Malaysia Slappy - #71 - Martin Luther King - 11th Grade

My pick for the best QB present, and there were some good ones at LaSalle this past weekend. Talking to a few incognito college coaches who were present, each of the two raved about having a passer with Slappy's potential. A junior at Martin Luther King, Malaysia Slappy was easily the most seasoned passer in attendance. She exuded confidence, Slappy displayed serious arm talent, proving to all watching that her deep ball range far exceeded that of any other passer present. Slappy showed a willingness to get better, she's a coachable prospect who has a bright future in this space. Below is a clip of Slappy taking in coaching from the Eastern University Women's Flag Football Head Coach Amanda Ruller.

Below are a list of additional prospects who caught my eye throughout the event. All of which are recruitable girls for any coaches interested.

Saaliyah Allen-Wright - #87 - Abraham Lincoln - 10th Grade

  • Great all-around talent. I witnessed Allen-Wright being quick to grab flags in front of her, I saw her navigating drills well. I witnessed Allen-Wright throwing the football better than I had imagined too, further proving the point to her all-around prowess.

Kaylin Robbins - #26 - High School of the Future - 9th Grade

  • Good hands, good route-runner, one of the better weapons at QBs disposal at this event. She looked seasoned too, yet willing to learn from Geraci and Clark too.

Amirah Chester - #69 - Martin Luther King - 11th Grade

Madison Dukes - #80 - Parkway Northwest - 11th Grade

  • Clips above showcase Dukes' prowess on defense. She recorded a fantastic interception, arguably the best play I was able to capture on camera.

Alexa Seneca - #43 - Quakertown - 10th Grade

Jennalee Pereira - #41 - Union City - 11th Grade

Some more flics from today's #GirlsFlagJamboree hosted at LaSalle College HS. Pictured are
