this season with Bishop McGuinness. Last season, Chance helped lead the Irish to a 9-0 record. He got hurt in the regular season finale and missed their run to the state championship game and 5A runner up finish. Now, Chance is healthy and ready to make up for lost time. He’s a quarterback that will have an opportunity to shine this season. The Irish are very light on the offensive line so Chance is going to have to make a lot happen himself. In those situations, if Chance answers the call and performs well, we could see him getting some opportunities later on in the year. The McGuinness signal caller looked really good when we saw him in the spring.

is on the shortlist of players that we’re fired up to watch this season. For Chance, the 2025 season feels like a “what if?” year after he got hurt in the regular season finale and had to miss their playoff run. Chance was terrific throughout the 2025 season and he was certainly missed in the postseason. Chance threw for over 1,700 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also added over 300 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. You look at the skill players that the Irish bring back in 2026, and we would be very surprised if Chance doesn’t take his production up a notch this year. And after having to miss their playoff run, Chance will be hungry to get back on the field.

has been handed the keys to this offense and we’re looking forward to seeing how he performs this season. The McGuinness coaches are excited about his overall playmaking ability and the damage he can do as a passer but also as a runner. And as we’ve mentioned a few times in this preview, he’s going to benefit from having an incredibly strong offensive line paving the way for him on the line of scrimmage. The Irish need new faces to emerge at the wide receiver position for Chance to have that breakout season but we know he’s going to have time in the pocket. He has the potential to be a breakout player in Class 5A.
