GC Exposure Hedgesville Camp: 7 DBs to Know

Currently ranked as the 17th best WR in his class, Bokwe opened eyes as a defensive back during 1-on-1s and had the best day among that group in my eyes. He'll be flipping to DB in our next rankings update later this summer, where he'll place highly and has a high ceiling for the position. Bokwe is a big, physical athlete who didn't lose many reps that we were able to see against some very talented receivers in attendance. His ATH tag is accurate as an athlete who can perform at a high level at both receiver and defensive back and proved as much at the GC Exposure Camp. Jones had several winning reps during 1-on-1s on both sides of the ball and looked evenly talented at each position. Lockett was a difficult evaluation having played mostly as an undersized OLB last season but will likely play safety at the next level. In man coverage, Lockett is a work in progress while not having much experience in that area given his role last season, but has all of the tools to be a very good safety at the next level with D1 potential. The 6'1 defensive back's length caused issues for receivers during 1-on-1s with long arms to break up passes and close catch windows. He also has the athleticism to close quickly on passes and recover well when breaking on the ball. He looked like an ideal fit for Nickel or one of the safety positions as a strong, stocky athlete who can be phsycial in press in the slot or defend in the run game on the back end or walking up to the line of scrimmage as a box safety. Hollie showed good physicality inside of 5 yards to reroute his man and knock them off their desired path. He's a smaller DB listed at 5'7 145 but competed admirably during 1-on-1s against some much bigger receivers in attendance. The size limitations expectedly causes issues for him at times but Holloman is a fearless defender who isn't afraid to match up with bigger receivers and will go up with them to play the ball in the air. He's a long and lanky athlete who will benefit from added size to his 6'0 frame after a couple of years in a college strength and nutrition program. Augustin showed upside as a potential corner or safety at the next level, depending on how his body develops in the future.
