Upcoming Front 7 New Additions in the Class of 2027

If you don't have a quality front 7, chances are that you'll get picked on in the ground game. Some of the more unsung but absolutely vital defenders on the field.   In this article, I'll be sharing my thoughts on five defenders who'll find themselves on the rankings soon. A few of these players are quite impressive- much better talent than I'm used to with these positions!    A very promising highlight tape from this off-ball linebacker!   Throughout the entire tape, Hayden does a great job of stopping the run. 0:51 shows pretty quick reaction, and a great job absorbing a block and stopping the running back in his tracks. A couple of other common themes are Hayden's ability to shed blocks and not allowing the ballcarrier any extra yards. Hayden has the IQ to read the play, the technique to dip under blocks, and the physicality to hit as hard as he can. Even when he's flat-footed with a running back barreling toward him, he's able to anchor down and deliver a hit.   Good stuff! If Hayden shows improvement next season (a step faster off the ball, better athlete, stronger), Hayden could be a very good college prospect come next offseason.      Some good flashes from an emerging linebacker. Tyler played six games on Varsity last season, and should be a full-season starter this Fall.   At 0:21, Tyler does an excellent job of chasing down the QB and securing the massive sack. Great job not over-pursuing, and getting the QB as he tries to cut back. At 0:30, Tyler does an excellent job of beating the lineman to the outside and earning a solo tackle against an excellent Lowell team. Finally, at 1:17, Tyler reacts quickly to the HB screen, and earns a solo tackle for loss.   With more consistnet play speed and physicality, Tyler absolutely could be a college prospect next spring!      A potential Gem. I absolutely love Asher's play speed.   Right off the bat, Asher delivers a strike on a RB block attempt, and earns the tackle for loss. Second, an incredible job firing off the ball, staying anchored, staying low, and dipping past the block. Plus, there's moments like 0:44 showing quick, violent hands and all-around high upside rushing the passer.   I could go on and on, but there are several excellent traits that Ahser possesses. Get off, motor, IQ are all far above average. If his size is accurate, Asher's upside is extremely high. Love the tape, and Asher should be ranked fairly high come next update.      Another shoutout to Malik, who now has DE highlights.   His highlight tape is solid. 0:29 shows a nice swim move on his way to a QB hit. Then, 0:37 shows another nice move, this time a push-pull, leading to a sack. His tape more or less shows what he showed in person. Good athleticism, highly efficient pass rushing, and an overall high-ceiling high school defensive end. Though, his play speed is a tad lacking compared to his recent camp performance. I would love to see a bit better physicality when it comes to stopping the run, as well as that same speed + bend that I saw in person.      Another player whose size is going to be very attractive to colleges.   His tape is solid. Jason's first highlight is a stunt that leads to an interception and solid return. Next, solid physicality and a good job of winning the inside, and earned a tackle for loss. Overall, his tape shows upside. It's apparent that Jason is getting off the ball as quickly as he can, and he doesn't give an inch when the opposing offensive lineman attempts to drive him backward.   I could see Jason being recruited as a defensive or offensive lineman. Either way, Jason should work on being a step quicker. I see the effort, I see the willingness to be physical, but really, explosiveness / athletesism is the last big peice of the puzzle.
