92 Ways Lineman Camp Top Performers

The 92 Ways Lineman Camp was recently held at Berry High School in Charlotte, NC. The camp attracted players from multiple states across the Southeast and emphasized teaching techniques and intense one-on-one competition at the end of the camp. Led by Fitzgerald Marche, the camp has now been going for four years and was created to teach the core fundamentals of line play while competing at a high level.   The camp had several standouts on both sides of the ball which we will highlight here in this article.   Defensive Linemen    Playing for one of the state's better programs, Omaryon goes by the nickname of "swole", meaning he is a very strong young man. His strength allows him to bully offensive linemen into the backfield on a consistent basis. There is a video of him bench-pressing 405 pounds in a rather easy fashion, so it's safe to say he works well against the run and allows his linebackers behind him to run free and make plays. Omaryon was selected as the Defensive MVP for this camp.     With offers from Massachusetts and Miami (Ohio) already in hand, Donovan came into this camp to continue to work on his craft and get better. Donovan shows some ability to work with both speed rush moves using his hands well to set up offensive linemen. Donovan also can work with power, getting his hands on offensive linemen to read where a play is going, then quickly shed the block and get to the ball well with good speed.     David is a good-looking & long prospect out of South Carolina who shows a lot of potential as an EDGE player. His frame should make college coaches take a long look at him where his best football could be ahead of him. David shows some good hand usage and quickness off of the football where he can become a good pass-rushing threat first & foremost.     Nathaniel had a good performance at this camp - I thought he showed some good agility moving through some movement drills along with a nice burst of speed coming off the line of scrimmage. I liked how Nathaniel used his hands well at the snap to shed offensive linemen's blocking attempts during 1 on 1 drills. Nathaniel has some college interest and deservedly so from a recruiting perspective.     43 Tackles, 9 Tackles For Loss, and 2 Sacks last season is a pretty good sophomore year for Simeon, who has the skill set to play inside at tackle or outside at end as a defensive lineman. Looking at film, I love how well Simeon gets off the ball at the snap. There are some plays where he isn't even touched and gets penetration to blow up the play before it starts. It will be exciting to see how he does going into his junior year.     It was fun to take a look at Kaiden on film - at this camp in particular he worked a lot as an EDGE pass rusher, and had some success with two moves mainly. The first was an outside speed rush where Kaiden showed some nice bend and the ability to turn the short corner with nice acceleration. Kaiden used that to setup his counter move, an arm-over move with a quick burst to the inside after offensive linemen over set to try and stay in front of his speed rush. All that being said, Kaiden looks to be a good pass rusher coming into his junior year.    Other Notable Defensive Linemen   Kaiden Okam - Ridge Road Middle School - 2029   Amare Moore - Mountain Island Charter - 2029   Offensive Linemen    Maddox was selected as the Offensive MVP for this camp. Taking a look at his film, Maddox is a strong interior offensive lineman who excels on down blocks and working in space in the run game. He form fits very well against defensive linemen at the snap and doesn't allow himself to get pushed back and bullied in pass protection against defensive tackles. Going into his junior season, he will be a key piece up front for Eastern Randolph.     The big thing here - literally - is Juan's size. Being 6'5 and 330 pounds will get you college interest no matter what your film looks like. Right now, Juan doesn't have much film out there, but being named a top performer at this camp bodes well for his upcoming senior season. With an ability to move and stay in front of defensive ends, and strength to work in the run game, Juan has the chance for a strong breakout season on the field and in the recruiting world.     The 6'2 and 270-pound offensive line prospect was selected as one of the best offensive linemen in attendance at the camp. South View has had some impressive skill players at the running back position, and Jamarcus has been a 2-year starter so far in his career. With his size, he should start to attract some recruiting attention with a strong start to his upcoming junior year on film.     Taking a look at Marcus on film, he screams potential and upside. He has excellent size and strength, and his footwork shows that he has enough agility to hold up against pass rushers off the edge at his left tackle position. Marcus would benefit from continuing to work on fundamentals and coming off the football in the run game. He has a big junior year ahead of him, and if he shows some progress he can jump onto some recruiting radars for sure.    Other Notable Offensive Linemen   Noah Gonzalez - Forbush - 2029
