It's no secret that all kids on the middle school level are maturing at different times. With physical maturation, also comes leaps in height and weight. While the five prospects below are kids I would consider "undersized" when comparing them nationally around the country as of February 24th, 2025, in three months they could look totally different. Here are five North Jersey kids to not sleep on because of their size.

Sussex County native.

Future High School: TBA.

A speedy prospect out of Sparta up in Sussex County, Weinstock was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the Freedom Conference of the Morris County Youth Football League. Listed at just 5-foot-7 and 125 pounds, he was a major reason for the Sparta's march towards the championship game of the Freedom Conference. Though he was primarily lined up in the Slot, he was moved around around a bit, including taking handoffs out of the backfield. Additionally, the speedy multi-sport athlete was a menace in the return game for the Spartans.

Morris County native.

Future High School: Boonton High School

Cherry, a Morris County native, missed majority of the season after breaking his collarbone--twice. However, in the limited time he was on the field, he was an instant difference-maker for Lincoln Park. The versatile athlete plays both Wide Receiver and Running Back with speed, quickness and excellent agility. Very quick in and out of his breaks in his routes. Plays with suddenness and explosion, that can keep DBs up at night. Additionally, plays Cornerback on the defensive side of the ball. At the Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp in New Jersey this past December, he was clocked at a 4.9 in the forty but claims as low as a 4.7.

Essex County native.

Future High School: West Orange High School

In Essex County, the West Orange football program is having quite the resurgence over the last couple years, from from the high school level down to the youth program. On the youth level, West Orange's [player_tooltip player_id='1566375' first='Jacoby' last='Warsager'] had a tremendous year. Warsager established himself as one of the top Wide Receivers in all of the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) and was selected to the NJSYFL All-Star Game. Matched up against many of the other top players from the competitive league, Warsager went off and stuffed the stat sheet with over 100 yards receiving in just the first half of the All-Star game.

Passaic County native.

Future High School: TBA

The smallest of the 2029 prospects featured in this write up, Foxworth is listed at just 5-foot-4 and 115-pounds but had a strong season for the Hawthorne Cubs in 2024. While the Cubs finished just 2-7 this year, landing them tied for 12th in the 14-team North Bergen Junior Football League (NBJFL), Foxworth contributed in all three phases of the game. One of three Cubs named an NBFL All-Star, he shined brightest as a Cornerback but did play well at WR and in the return game as well. His lack of size was a benefit at times, as he was able to hide behind blockers with ease.

Union County native.

Future High School: Summit High School

On top of what he contributed on offense as a Running Back, which included some creativity taking direct snaps, Hoefs played stellar defense in 2024. Hoefs was one of four Hilltoppers named an NJSYFL All-Star, after leading Summit to a 7-0-1 regular season record in the National Division. An undersized Outside Linebacker as of February 2025, he plays a hard-hitting and bruising brand of football that throwback coaches across the country would love. Plays responsibility-first football, violent and fast. A prime example of his style is on the second play of his film, where he jolts a lead blocker so hard that the lead blocker comes off his feet and into the RB he was supposed to be blocking for. An absolute masterpiece of a play.
