Alan Popadines | Prep Redzone Scout
- Morris County native.
- Future High School: Boonton High School
Cherry, a Morris County native, missed majority of the season after breaking his collarbone–twice. However, in the limited time he was on the field, he was an instant difference-maker for Lincoln Park. The versatile athlete plays both Wide Receiver and Running Back with speed, quickness and excellent agility. Very quick in and out of his breaks in his routes. Plays with suddenness and explosion, that can keep DBs up at night. Additionally, plays Cornerback on the defensive side of the ball. At the Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp in New Jersey this past December, he was clocked at a 4.9 in the forty but claims as low as a 4.7.

Despite a broken collarbone robbing him of a large part of this season, Cherry is back practicing and is on his way back to help LP down the home stretch of the season. Between clips from the off-season and from the opening game of the season, it’s clear to see how dangerous of a weapon he is when the ball is in his hands. While he is undersized at just 5-foot-4 and 130-pounds, he makes up for it with quickness. As he gets ready to advance into high school ball, he could blossom into an ideal Slot. Put him in motion, in the backfield or out wide for screens and he’ll move the chains. If he continues to grow and keep the quickness, he’ll continue to be a player for the opposing defenses to worry about.
