Prep Redzone Louisiana's winter rankings process continued this past week with the latest 2027 update.

And another slew of talented prospects joined the list on the heels of productive sophomore seasons.

Here's a look at half a dozen new top-50 debuts on the latest list, each of whom possesses clear Division-I FBS talent, between No. 26 and No. 50.

No. 37 [player_tooltip player_id='1594309' first='Maison' last='Smith'] — 6-3, 275 DL/OL — University Lab

The Cubs' big defensive tackle has a great frame for the next level and combination of power and all-around athleticism at his size. His sophomore film and his performance at the recent Prep Redzone Louisiana Stock Up Showcase both showed his ability as an interior disruptor with a good set of pass-rush moves at this point in his development. And he also appears to have notable positional versatility to play on either side of the ball.

No. 41 [player_tooltip player_id='1610246' first='Trey' last='Martin'] — 5-11, 185 DB/RB — Franklin Parish

The Patriots are already on a rare recruiting run for their standards with the 2025 and 2026 classes and have more young talent to follow. Martin is the early headliner in the 2027 class as a thickly built, physical athlete with breakaway speed as a three-phase playmaker who looks on film to have legitimate Division-I potential as either a safety or running back.

No. 44 [player_tooltip player_id='1357863' first='Kobe' last='Smith'] — 6-2, 230 EDGE — Avoyelles

The sophomore edge-rusher was already one of his Mustangs' top defensive standouts as a sophomore this fall with 50 tackles, including 17 for loss and eight sacks, to early all-district first-team and all-state honorable-mention recognition. Smith has good size at this point in his development with a long frame and a good burst out of his stance and in his close on opposing passers and ball-carriers.

No. 45 [player_tooltip player_id='1402701' first='Malachi' last='Dabney'] — 5-9, 185 RB — Destrehan

The sophomore burst onto the scene this fall, rising to the occasion in place of an injured senior teammate and going on to an all-district first-team and all-state honorable-mention breakout season. Dabney racked up 1,688 yards and 22 touchdowns on 231 carries and another 89 yards and a score on five catches. He's a physical runner with a good burst to the outside and appears to gain steam later in the games.

No. 48 Jude Chamblerlain — 6-5, 220 TE — Catholic (Baton Rouge)

The Bears' sophomore multisport athlete is a promising tight end prospect who showed some flashes in key moments late this fall as a big, athletic target with an eye-catching frame and reliable hands. Chamberlain, who also plays for the school's basketball team moves well — whether in his route-running on the football field or all-over the court as a big, mobile forward.

No. 49 [player_tooltip player_id='1610129' first='Juelz' last='Batiste'] — 6-3, 225 EDGE — Edna Karr

Not a ton to say about Batiste yet as he sat behind the Cougars' slew of veterans on defense, but limited glimpses of his already Division-I frame and build and the way he moves at his size look like a major breakout candidate who could quickly prove drastically under-ranked here. Batiste will be a key player to watch this summer and fall in more opportunities in competitive settings.
