Reyna's 2nd year on Varsity has simply built upon his Freshman year. He's coming from another good performance in the sectionals matchup against Wheeler. He had a game-high 8 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 1 sack on the night as they completely stifled Wheeler's offense. I think Reyna is right on track and developing as he should.

Brewer is an exciting Edge from Fort Wayne with a good frame, a decent athlete who can explode off the line, and has incredible length and reach. He's also a high-motor guy who can drive his guy back as well as has the speed to get around them. Once he works on his finesse moves and gets the strenght for Saturdays, he'll be dominant. He had a pair of sacks on Friday which were huge, but also has 14 other TFLs on the year.

Delgatto is a key piece for Lafayette Central and can do a handful of things for that defense. He's smart and reacts quickly. He's fairly strong and can handle himself in the trenches as well as in the 2nd level. He finished Friday with a game high 15 tackles, 3 TFLs, and a sack. On the year it gives him 80 tackles, 20 TFLs, and 15 sacks. With 2 seasons over double digit sacks, it confirms his ability to get after the QB.

Welker has quickly went from a young player with potential to one of, if not the leader for his defense. The performance he put up on Friday speaks volumes to his future and potential. With his 12 tackles and 4 TFLs on Friday, he led the game in both categories, and then he blocked a punt as well. With 230 career tackles through 2 years, it's clear Welker can play at a high level for extended periods of time.

Smith was as busy as anyone on Friday because he seemingly never came off the field. Not only did he have a big defensive performance, he touched the ball 5 times on offense. He then had 91 total kick return yards. This is before you add in his 7 tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 forced fumble. While he may not have had the biggest days statistically, they trust him, he's all over, and he makes key plays.

Hutchinson just put together his most complete and disruptive game from start to finish. If he's able to creat this level of havoc regularly, they're going to be hard to stop. It's almost like he flipped a switch on Friday. While he's been productive all season, nothing close to his perfomrnace on Friday. Paoli's offense struggled to complete passes and it was the pressure from Hutchinson that caused issues. 14 tackles on the night led the game and helped guide the Braves to a win.
