Skutt Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='1059142' first='Joseph' last='Kolega'] played a massive role in the Sky Hawks' massive win over Bennington, which snapped their 46-game win streak. Kolega's skillset was on full display as he made plays in all three phases of the game. Kolega hauled in 11 receptions for 215 yards and two receiving touchdowns while snagging two interceptions (returned one for a TD) and kicking the go-ahead FG. He was especially impressive on offense, where he flashed his smooth route running that allowed him to consistently get open against the Badger's defense. He's very strong at the catch point with reliable hands and the strength to hold on through contact. Very good burst after the catch with nice acceleration to separate from defenders. Seemed like he found ways to respond anytime the Badgers tried to build up momentum. Definitely opened some eyes after this performance.

Vikings junior [player_tooltip player_id='488174' first='Darion' last='Jones'] continues his massive rise with another elite performance. Jones has emerged as a two-way star for Omaha North, especially shining on defense. Jones tallied 5 tackles, 2 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 67 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown against Bellevue West. The biggest jump in Darion's game this season is how well and effectively he's processing the information on the field. He reads QBs eyes extremely well and can pick up on what offenses are doing quickly. Jones' physicality as a DB is also impressive to watch as he has shown that he can play press at the line and will engage in hand fighting to disrupt receivers. Great footwork, speed and fluidity. Darion has also built a great rapport with QB Gow and has become a reliable target on offense. Big things coming for Jones!

Junior LB [player_tooltip player_id='1114607' first='Bo' last='Gable'] is having a breakout season as he's cracked the 100 tackle mark after eight weeks. Gable had a big week 8 performance with 17 tackles, a TFL, 26 receiving yards, a receiving touchdown, and a KO return for a touchdown. His 17 tackles are a true testament to his non-stop motor and defensive range that allow him to constantly be near the ball. He has a quick trigger when he reads run and can get downhill in a flash. Gable is also well-rounded and athletic enough to flip his hips and drop into coverage. Versatile player who can also leave his mark on the on offense or special teams, but projects best on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='414922' first='Becker' last='Pohlman'] (Twitter), 2025 – Stanton – 6'0″ 195 lbs

The Mustangs are on a clear mission to repeat as D1 champions, and with a performance like Becker's in Week 8, it will be tough to match their explosiveness. Becker put together a versatile performance against the LCC Bears with eight carries, 150 rushing yards, 56 receiving yards, two rushing yards, and two receiving touchdowns. Pohlman flashes as a powerful, downhill runner with the burst and speed to hit the homerun ball on any given run. Another thing that stands out is his physicality, using stiff arms and dropping the pads to run through defenders and forcing multiple defenders to try and bring him down. Pohlman also projects well as a linebacker at the next level with good tackling technique, lateral quickness, and a quick break on the ball. Very versatile prospect who is still flying under the radar!

South Sioux City's [player_tooltip player_id='773257' first='Tony' last='Palmer'] continues to carve up defenses at will with another big game! Against Lincoln Northeast, Tony toted the ball 27 times for 308 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Palmer is a very impressive running back who combines a nice blend of speed, power, and vision. He has the strength to pound away at defenses between the tackles with the speed and twitch to bounce runs to the outside and pick up large gains. Tony is very patient in letting his blocks set up, but he hits it with conviction when he finds a lane. Palmer also proved to be a threat in the passing game, as he tallied 69 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
