To catch up, here are a few players who have caught my attention through four weeks of play!

(@DorceyRhys)

Sidney's [player_tooltip player_id='1700707' first='Rhys' last='Dorcey'] has burst onto the scene as a junior after showing flashes in a small sample size as a sophomore. Dorcey has established himself as a true feature back for the Red Raiders, recording 59 carries for 473 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Watching Rhys through four games, my biggest note is that he's not necessarily a burner; instead, he uses his bigger frame and strong base to power through defenses and continue to pick up yardage after contact. Rhys has great contact balance, which makes it difficult for him to be brought down on initial contact, and he'll also seek to dish out some punishment of his own. He identifies gaps quickly and displays a nice burst as he hits the hole. Dorcey has also shown that he can be a serviceable receiver out of the backfield with four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. The season is far from over, but Rhys has already made a believer out of us... keep tabs on this guy!

(@Elon_washinton)

Papillion-La Vista South's [player_tooltip player_id='487796' first='Elon' last='Washington'] quietly had one of the better receiving seasons in Class A last year and has carried that momentum over to his senior year. Through four games, Washington has recorded 25 receptions for 307 yards and three touchdowns. I was able to watch him in action against Millard North in Week 3 and thought he had a solid game. He is a very crafty receiver who excels at creating separation from defenders with his route-running ability and can finish plays with his strong hands at the catch point. Washington is especially dangerous going over the middle of the field, where he can use his quick twitch to beat slower DBs/LBs. Elon isn't just good through the route and at the catch point, but also after the catch, where he has shown that he can take advantage of open space to tack on additional yardage. This also translates to special teams, where he's already recorded a kickoff return for a touchdown. Elon is somewhat under the radar at the moment, but should pick up more looks as the season progresses and more coaches can check him out.

(@ethanbeachy02)

Through four weeks, [player_tooltip player_id='795746' first='Ethan' last='Beachy'] has the Elkhorn North offense running smoothly and efficiently with him under center. Ethan is already outpacing his averages from his breakout season last year, with 764 passing yards (191 ypg), 13 rushing touchdowns, a 63% completion rate (60/95), and a 110.3 QBR. The main word that kept reverberating in my head when watching Ethan's four-game tape is that he is a flat-out gamer. He has the arm talent to keep you in/win any game while doing a good job of limiting mistakes and turnovers. Beachy's legs also make him a threat to keep drives and plays alive, with his 156 yards and touchdown on the ground. Great timing and placement on his passes with the arm to push the ball deep downfield or fit it into tight windows. He is also very gritty, showing that he can fight off would-be tacklers to avoid big losses and can dish out a mean stiff arm/dropped shoulder when he decides to take off. Unsigned senior who brings a tough mental edge to the next level!

(@elijah_gutz)

Lincoln East's [player_tooltip player_id='487753' first='Elijah' last='Gutz'] continues to solidify himself as one of the premier pass rushers in the '26 cycle with a hot start to the season. Elijah has recorded seven sacks through four games, which is tied for the most in the state. Gutz has also posted 17 total tackles and 11 TFLs to fill out his stat sheet. Part of what makes Elijah so effective is his quickness off the line. He has a twitchy first step and has the length to extend and make the initial contact at the point of attack. He uses great leverage and a powerful base to keep himself from being moved off the line while also knowing how to use his hands to disengage from blocks. Elijah is relentless in his pursuit, with great ball-tracking ability, as he fights through blockers and does an excellent job closing on the ball quickly to shut down big gains. Constant presence in the opposing backfield with a knack for making splash plays! Massive steal at this point in the recruiting cycle!

(@GrosdidierLogan)

Another Class B QB running the show for an undefeated team is Platteview's [player_tooltip player_id='1271571' first='Logan' last='Grosdidier'], who is quickly moving up the ranks of the '27 cycle. Logan has completed 52 of 93 pass attempts (56%) for 976 yards and seven touchdowns to only one interception. Logan has also been making plays on the ground with 48 carries for 234 yards and two passing touchdowns. The biggest thing that stood out to me about Logan's tape was how well he is processing plays and reading defenses this season. Logan is moving through his reads very smoothly and finding the best option to throw to without holding onto the ball for too long. He is also doing a good job deciding when to pull the ball and run it effectively. Grosdidier's accuracy and timing on his throws have taken a significant step forward this season, as he's finding receivers in stride and placing the ball where only they can catch it. With (minimum) five games left of his junior season and another offseason to continue grinding, the sky is the limit for Logan and his development!

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
