A tad over halfway through the season for these Section I teams, and a considerable amount of prospects with film out so far that I split this by the side of the ball into offense and defense. An overview of a few prospects I have been impressed with through film/production - and a small disclaimer: This article is mostly for prospects who either exceed expectations or are entirely new to me. Prospects performing at expectation, even if that expectation puts them amongst the top players in the area, are not included. Two of the best examples are [player_tooltip player_id='528727' first='Tristan' last='Werlau'] from Carmel and [player_tooltip player_id='648880' first='Jake' last='Kessner'] from Rye, who are performing at a "Player of the Year" type level - but the level we expect from those established prospects.

This will be an overview of the top offensive prospects. Some of these prospects are two-way guys, but some of their best film production comes on the offensive side of the ball.

Miller was a quality player for Rye last year, and that came at different positions because his older brother was one of the top quarterbacks in the state - Miller has taken over at quarterback and excelled this season for Rye. He is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who displays a ton of confidence and poise for a player making his first few starts at quarterback.

Miller is already a Harvard Lacrosse commit - and his early football tape shows some stuff that I think would qualify him as a football prospect of a similar level. From a quarterback-specific perspective, he has some work to do on his mechanics, but being so new to the position, he has had an exceptional start to the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1529592' first='Henry' last='Shoemaker'] is the primary beneficiary of Rye's offensive explosion and seamless transition of quarterbacks to start the year. The 6'4 "185-pound WR prospect jumped onto my radar out of nowhere and has inserted himself into the conversation of New York's most productive receivers and intriguing prospects in the 2026 class. The long, lean prospect has good ball skills and catches away from his body - he flashes some good acceleration and change of direction for his build. As a football prospect he could develop into a tight end/Flex-Y prospect with his frame or be a bigger outside WR prospect that wins at the catch point.

Galante has done it all this season for Yorktown and has quickly become one of the top playmakers with the ball in his hands in Section I - Galante put some solid sophomore tape together, but to start this year has exceeded what I had in mind about him as a prospect - I saw him at a camp in the offseason, and he did quality work at DB. This year, so far, you're seeing better short-area quickness in his tape, and his overall ability to stop and start is better than many prospects with a similar size profile.

[player_tooltip player_id='806356' first='Jaquan' last='Johnson'] is a two-way player, but his offensive performance this year in a bigger role does not come as a surprise, considering the athleticism he has and the stuff he put on film last year. He has elite speed (10.7 100m), which you can see all over his film. While he is undersized, he is such a dynamic athlete there is a clear role for him at the next level - he has the athleticism to be a dynamic returner but also features as a playmaker in space for an offense and shows that skillset on tape.

I saw Patterson live when Bronxville and Pelham played earlier in the season, and the 2025 RB really stood out. When you widen the scope of Patterson as a prospect, he checks a lot of boxes. Patterson has limited film, but there should be some stuff from this season soon. He plays with a great motor and is a physical runner who always falls forward. He has verified track speed and good measurables for the running back position and sports a 3.75 GPA.

The Somers Quarterback Factory continues to churn out prospects that help Somers compete for State Championships. Although there is not much here for football coaches since Iglesias is a Notre Dame Lacrosse commit - the Senior standout at Quarterback has helped Somers score 40+ in five of their six games. There is no full film out for Iglesias, but many of his plays have made it onto social media and you can just watch some film of 2026 WR standout [player_tooltip player_id='1206376' first='Dean' last='Palazzolo'].

I thought Dietz's Junior Film was solid - he checked a lot of boxes for an OL prospect, but in his 2024 fall film so far, you see some minor improvements to his game that are a big game changer for me - last season, his hand usage/pad level was a little off at times, but this year I think those have been assets to his game. He shows an excellent job of consistently getting to the 2nd level and has some intriguing off-field accolades as one of Section I's top heavyweight wrestlers.

Hernandez is one of the bigger offensive line prospects in Section I and I updated his measurables from the 260 he was around last season. Hernandez has a stronger punch than last season, a wide frame/build, and a strong anchor/lower half. Hernandez has some individual game highlights, and I like how he has played so far this season.

Williams is part of a Yonkers Force team that has a solid start to the season, and although we got limited film here - a little word of mouth plus some additional watching Williams through other offensive prospects film on the team put together a good picture of the offensive guard. Williams is a really talented athlete - his movement skills at the position are up there with the best interior guys in the state, and although a tad undersized, he is strong and shows a strong initial punch and initial engagement in space.

A completely new name to me, [player_tooltip player_id='1529631' first='Tyler' last='Mascerot'] has been incredible so far for Byram Hills - offense, defense, special teams Mascerot has been a big part of Byram Hills 4-2 start to the season already eclipsing their total wins from last year. There limited film of him this season, and considering how much impressive film he has from Junior year, I can't believe I missed him going through teams - absolutely a must-know name if you recruit Section I.

Tuttle has been exceptional for Arlington so far this season. Listed as a defensive back, he was a quality DB for them last year and still is this year, but the difference through his senior season has been his performance and film offensively and on special teams. His athleticism stands out - he shows really good twitch and open-field vision. As a receiver, he has great ball skills and a big-time catch radius, with the ability to go up and make plays high and point the football in traffic. Tuttle is a prospect that has taken every advantage of seeing the ball even more.
