About Connor

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Connor McDermott | Class of 2029 Lakeside Middle School | Defensive Tackle, Center, Long Snapper Height: 5’6” | Weight: 154 Disciplined player with relentless drive, explosive power, and consistent long snapping accuracy. Versatile athlete and aspiring Division 1 player with strong leadership on and off the field.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Relentless and focused, I approach every challenge with determination and a drive to improve. I’m a team-first player who leads by example, staying disciplined and resilient on and off the field. Hard work and a positive mindset define my mentality.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am the president of my HOSA chapter at Lakeside Middle School, certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR. I’m also a first-place winner in a statewide HOSA mock interview competition and have participated in state officer training and leadership events, developing strong teamwork and leadership skills.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership skills as the president of my HOSA chapter, where I’ve led initiatives and inspired teamwork among members. Through my involvement in HOSA events and training, I’ve enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively with others. Additionally, being First Aid, AED, and CPR certified reflects my dedication to serving and supporting my community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One significant challenge I faced was recovering from patellar tendon surgery, which impacted my football aspirations. However, this experience taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of hard work in overcoming setbacks. It also inspired my interest in orthopedics and helping others recover from injuries.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with strong academic programs in pre-medicine, health sciences, and or business, as well as competitive Division 1 football opportunities. I want a school that values leadership, teamwork, and personal growth both on and off the field.

Connor McDermott Connor McDermott Connor McDermott 5'6" | 160 lbs | LS/OL GA is a unique player in the sense of being able to be an exceptional long snapper on top of being very good on the offensive and defensive line. McDermott can play really anywhere asked. Being a long snapper, it’s pretty clear on what kind of player he is because being a long snapper, a lot like kicker and punter in the sense that not everyone is cut out for it, let alone being able to do it. McDermott is a special talent and can go a very, very long way being an exceptional long snapper. Keep an eye out on him in this 2029 class!
