Week 5: Legend Titans vs Castleview

I had the privilege of going out and watching these two teams battle against each other on the gridiron. The Legend Titans were victorious with a 30-0 victory. Even though Castleview didn't get the dub, there were still positives from their team. Without further ado, let's dive into the analysis.    Starting out with our player of the game, is [player_tooltip player_id='212253' first='Ryken' last='Banks']. Ryken had a monster game against Castleview, with 13 carries for 180 yards on the ground. His big rushes set Legend up nicely in the redzone for the easy touchdown. Banks used his very good athletic ability (Very good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and balance) to burst through the hole. Banks used his good vision to choose the correct hole. He uses his shifty feet to create dynamic cuts at the line of scrimmage allowing him to change direction on a dime. Ryken is like a bowling ball, running through the defense. He'll put the shoulder pad down and truck through defenders. It really does take multiple guys to bring him down. One instance he broke away for a 30-yard gain, and his longest rush of the night was 64 yards. Throughout the night, his competitive toughness was on display. He'd give it his all during each play, leaving it all out on the field. Banks is a must know player, and his grit and determination helped lead the path to Legend's victory.     Lawrence had a nice outing on Friday. Measuring in at 6'0 185-pounds. The senior had 12 carries for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. Lawrence has very good athletic ability due to elite acceleration, very good speed, very good change of direction, and balance. Lawrence uses his very good vision to identify which holes to run through. Lawrence uses very good dynamic cuts to juke out defenders. He will go the complete opposite direction and make it look seamless. One play that stood out to me was when he turned a would be TFL into 2 yards. Shows his athleticism and competitive toughness, on not giving up. He was a perfect compliment to Banks's big performance, giving the defense a mix of thunder and lightning.     Brenner led Castleview in tackles with 9 total (7 solo, 2 assisted). Measuring in at 5'10 175 pound, the linebacker has good athletic ability due to good speed and change of direction. He used his good athletic ability to run downfield to tackle the Legend running backs. Brenner showed his good mental processing by making quick decisions and put himself in position to tackle the ball carrier. Brenner is a good tackler, tackling towards the center of gravity, not at the shoulder pads. Good run stopper.     Farley was an important part in the run game for Legend. The senior QB used his dual threat ability to keep Castleview on their toes. He went 7/10 for 49 yards through the air, and 11 carries for 48 yards and 3 touchdowns through the ground. Farley has good athletic ability due to good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. He has a quick snappy release, allowing him to throw the ball accurately with a defender in his face. As a runner, Farley has very good vision and used that to his advantage. He slithered through the gaps for a 4.4 rushing yard average. An aspect that stood out to me, was he never shied away from contact. He engaged first, and got physical with the defenders. Good performance from Farley, looking forward to seeing more out of the senior as the season progresses.     Harry was the leading receiver for Castleview. The 6'4 185-pound senior had 4 receptions for 38 yards and was Gordon's go to target throughout the evening. He has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good acceleration, and good speed. Harry showcased his ability to adjust and his good body control. Harry had a toe tap catch on the sideline, keeping both feet in bounds. Harry had another sideline catch, using his lengthy arms to pluck it from being out of bounds. As a defender, he had 5 total tackles (3 solo, 2 assisted). I was impressed with this body control, and looking forward to seeing how he progresses through the rest of the season.
