This just keep getting better and better for offenses across Wisconsin and the playmakers behind the offensive success. That shouldn't be a surprise though as offenses get more reps and find their groove the numbers are going to keep getting bigger and better. This week we have a bit of everything. From sophomore OL that have taken big leaps in their development to a junior QB making a name for himself, to senior playmakers at WR and RB who took over games and put up Madden-like stat lines. Dive in, enjoy, and give these kids a look!

Stats: 16/30, 257 Yards, 2 TDs

Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1423958' first='Carmine' last='Moctezuma'] had a big week while helping Kohler to their first victory of the season. The tape is impressive to watch. You see the 6'2" signal caller scan the field, look off DBs, and go through progressions consistently. The junior passer also piled up the impressive downfield throws to the intermediate and deep levels of the field. We see touch and velocity depending on what the throw demanded to hit the window. Carmine is definitely worth keeping an eye on. He sits at 13th in the state for passing yards through 3 games with 723 yards. The Kohler offense will give him plenty of chances to impress. Check out the Week 3 film below.

Stats: 16 Carries, 170 Yards, 3 TDs

The senior RB is putting together a solid final season at De Pere. His big Week 3 performance on both sides of the ball helped secure the first W of the season. The downhill runner is a name to know. He has effective short area quickness and acceleration to win in the trenches. His vision flashes on a few plays including the long TD early in his highlights from this week. Lucas also brings the physicality to the defenders. He will lower the shoulder and has the low center of gravity to bounce off tackle attempts. The senior RB has a solid, well rounded game.

Stats: 119 Rushing Yards, 4 TDs

The junior RB is an electric RB out of Wauwatosa West. The Week 3 tape shows an RB who finishes runs with violence. On multiple carries we see Kevin run over defenders or drag them into the endzone. Coming into the season, Kevin was a speedy back. This season he is showing that he is a very well rounded ball carrier. The speed is definitely still there, though. He can shoot through a gap and be loose in the secondary before LBs can close on him. The acceleration he shows after the handoff jumps off the tape too. Athletically, Kevin has talent that stands out from the crowd. Plus he is also showing that he can thrive in the physical side of the position. The senior RB impresses with his physicality. Despite his 5'10" 185 lbs frame, Cole brings the contact to the defender. He rips through arm tackles, and easily bounces off shoulder tackles. His legs seem to always be churning for extra yards after contact too. Cole also has quickness and agility that make him effective running between the tackles in tight spaces. The senior RB makes you earn your tackles, and can also leave you tackling air with a quick lateral cut.

During the summer it was clear that Gavin had made a big jump in his development, but it wasn't clear how much of a jump until we started to see the game tape from this fall. In Week 3 Gavin went up against a loaded Verona defense and the film that came out of it shows an OT that a lot of high level college programs need to have on their recruiting boards. The massive, 6'6" 275 lbs OT is an easy mover, especially in pass protection. He can get good depth in his initial pass set and as soon as his man tries to change direction Gavin is able to easily mirror that move and use his superior length and strength to completely shut down their rush. The junior OT has excellent flexibility in his lower body to allow him to use leverage and maximize the strength he brings to the field. I highly recommend checking out all of Gavin's tape, starting with the Week 3 tape.

Stats: 20 Carries, 292 Yards, 5 TDs

Milwaukee Academy of Science sits at 3-0 on the season, and a massive reason why is the play of [player_tooltip player_id='245986' first='Josiah' last='Johnson'] out of the backfield. The senior RB is the state's leading rusher at this point in the season. Josiah has a very well rounded game. His vision allows him to quickly find blocks and running lanes and his speed to break off the long TD can change the game in a single play. Johnson also can do the dirty work. His 6' 2120 lbs frame can grind out the tough yards or break through tackles in the open field and then accelerate away from the field for more big plays. Josiah is a workhorse back that can run with power and also create the big play with athleticism. His senior season is off to a hot start.

https://twitter.com/Josiah22Johnson/status/1832578482632523793

Stats: 9 Receptions, 229 Yards, 1 TD

What a performance from the sophomore WR out of Racine Lutheran! Bryce set the school record for receiving yards in a game this week, and the 2027 currently sits at #5 in the state for receiving yards on the season. The smooth route runner shined on tape this week as he did a great job showing off his complete game. He can create separation with his route running, using head fakes and having smooth breaks. We also see the downfield ball tracking and ability to high point the ball through contact. Plus while he was on the way to setting the school record Bryce also made several key downfield blocks for the run game. The sophomore is talented and isn't afraid to do the dirty work. He came into the season as one of the top sophomores in the state and is continuing to look like it.

Stats: 6 Receptions, 100 Yards, 3 TDs

Rocco delivered a big game to help lead Hamilton Sussex to a victory over Waukesha West in Week 3. The senior TE did his damage in the short passing game, giving his QB an easy target or outlet when under pressure. After the catch Rocco ran hard and forced the defense to gang tackle him as he piled up yards after the catch and contact. Over and over Orlando was able to find the soft spots in the defense for easy targets from the QB. You also have to love that the senior finished those physical runs after the catch with multiple scores. He has shown during the early season that he can be a workhorse back that handles a lot of carries week to week. The junior RB is a downhill, physical, one cut runner who plays behind his shoulder pads and punishes defenders who try to bring him down. Joseph ends every carry with a score or with his pads forward and attempting to run over DBs or LBs. The junior RB doesn't just smash his face into piles and try to create yards. Joseph has patience while running behind his OL and once he gets through past those blocks is when you see the flip to that angry, aggressive running style. The River Falls RB is going to be a big riser in the next rankings update. The senior also has the speed to create the big plays as soon as he hits daylight. Owen stepped up big time in the hard-earned Week 3 victory.

https://twitter.com/OwenPreim/status/1832897930144928224

Stats: 11 Carries, 158 Yards, 2 TDs

Catholic Memorial has another impressive RB coming through the ranks in 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1620187' first='Harold' last='Lewis']. Lewis put together a big stat line with just 11 touches. That is a great example of how explosive, elusive and an overall playmaker Harold is. He already plays with the patience, vision, and acceleration needed to dominate behind the line of scrimmage and through the front seven. The sophomore also has the game breaking speed to change the game when he hits the open field. Over and over in Week 3 Lewis made the highlight reel play look easy. He is clearly a talented athlete that is going to be a prospect to know by the time he is a junior/senior. Brody has been dominating the 8 man circuit this fall as a senior, putting up stat lines that look like he is playing Madden on rookie mode. Brody is looking much improved from what we saw as a junior. Athletically, his top end speed stands out from the field as he repeatedly pulls away with that second gear. The senior has soft hands and runs impressively hard after the catch, breaking tackles and creating big plays after contact. Brody is a hidden gem to know in the 8 man league.

Hunter has made the jump that you hope to see from those special sophomores. As a freshman it was clear that Hunter had the prototypical massive, strong frame but he was still growing into it. As a sophomore, Hunter looks far more comfortable in that big frame and it has led to very impressive play on the field. The OT has excellent range to get out in space and land massive blocks on DBs. In the trenches, the sophomore is becoming a force. He has the powerful leg drive to wash DL off the ball or down the line away from the designed gap. The heavy hands and overall upper body strength jump off the tape as he punches or throws defenders to the ground. I'm very excited for the next few years of football where we get to watch Hunter continue to develop into a special OL prospect. Give the kid a look!
